Technical Business Analyst at Allan Gray Proprietary Limited

Job Summary

• We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, & proactive business analyst to be the link between the Retail IT CRM business objectives and our technical teams. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, analytical, collaborative, dependable, accustomed to working in a technological environment with multiple integrated systems highly analytical and has relevant experience in workflow management systems. The successful incumbent will be responsible for translating business needs into IT solutions, by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of requirements elicitation, analysis, and quality assurance for our new features and software products in the CRM applications.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyse and solve business problems using technology
• Product backlog, prioritization, process mapping
• Gain a deep understanding of the key business processes, people, and IT systems that support them
• Elicit requirements, analyse, validate, and document requirements for business problems using a range of techniques in collaboration with business stakeholders and the Product Owner
• Communicate with stakeholders and provide sufficient information to allow for informed business decisions
• Identify the business problem and come up with appropriate solutions, identify project and solution risks, document benefits of existing and proposed solutions and conduct impact analysis of proposed solution
• Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
• Assess scope of projects and assist with planning and prioritisation in collaboration with the Product Owner
• Analysis integration and system requirements
• Assist in guidance of project deadlines, schedules, and methodologies
• Support and drive implementation of projects in collaboration with the PO
• Development of test scenarios, test cases and testing activities necessary to assess the quality and completion of system implementations
• Collaborate with developers to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between business and system requirements.
• Support the business transition and assist business with change management
• Assist with the analysis of production defects as needed. This will involve analysis of the cause of the defects raised, as well as the actions required to correct the problem and prevent the problem from re-occurring.

Collaboration

• Work closely with business stakeholders to define and analyse business requirements and problems across business departments
• Collaborate with business to design and document processes and system solutions
• Collaborate with business to define success metrics to be able to measure the success of the delivery of the requirement
• Collaborate with the PO, developers, testers, and business to ensure the understanding of the requirements
• Work with testers and business to ensure that the test cases are complete and accurate.
• Work with training and ensure that the delivered functionality is clearly communicated to business
• Communicate any changes to systems and/or processes to all affected parties with a sufficient level of detail and explanation.
• Effectively Communicate with other teams how they can/should integrate with the CRM systems.

Qualifications And Experience

• At least 5 years’ experience as a business analyst in an IT environment
• P.O experience (Product backlog, Prioritization)
• Strong SQL skills and knowledge (writing queries & scripting)
• Experience in the use of business analysis frameworks and methodologies
• Experience that demonstrates your ability to function well in a detailed environment with particular concern for accuracy and quality
• Proven experience preparing and maintaining business requirements/workflow, prioritising requirements enforcing change control policy and validation testing of business requirements
• Proven experience identifying and documenting functional and non-functional technical requirements
• Technology or Business Analyst qualification preferred
• Strong interest in technology and financial services specifically
