Technical Manager at Mazars

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of ISQM 1 and 2 at a firm level.
• Development of risk management policies and tools within Mazars
• Specific focus on supporting independence requirements (e.g. responding to queries from teams and clients, monitoring independence, ensuring independence processes and systems are in line with Mazars Group requirements, assisting with independence declarations)
• Assist with the performance of compliance procedures to ensure that policies are followed by Partners and Staff
• Draft responses to technical consultations related to ISAs, Companies Act and other legislation
• Develop and present training related to quality and risk management matters in the assurance environment
• Perform projects related to quality and risk management within the firm on a national basis and for a number of other African offices
• Research and identify changes in legislation and standards impacting the firm and the profession
• Participate in technical due diligence reviews of potential new partners or firms joining Mazars.
• Participate in the internal monitoring process of the firm in terms of ISQM 1 and 2

Minimum Requirements

• Recently qualified CA(SA)
• Exceptional knowledge of inter alia, ISA, IFAC Code of Ethics, ISQM1, Companies Act
• Ability to work in stressful conditions and under tight deadlines
• Ability to effectively manage decentralized projects
• Attention to detail and the ability to critically evaluate the application of legislation and standards
