    Technology Enterprise Architect (Bryanston)

    Description

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for 4 main areas:

    Business Architecture

    • This area defines the business strategy, governance, organisation, and key business processes. It acts as a blueprint that links the business goals to the technical solutions, ensuring that IT investments support, for example, better customer service or reduced operational costs.
    • Key Focus: Business capability mapping to core systems, process optimisation within systems, and solution architecture.

    Data (or Information) Architecture

    • The system of records being integrated to provide a system of systems which the BI and Analytics team can use is crucial.
    • The EA is responsible for ensuring the data sets are effectively extracted through secure and real-time APIs into a data model within AP’s Datawarehouse, and data validity is facilitated through data anomaly checking and presentation into the Bronze layer of the Medallion Architecture in MS Fabric.
    • Key areas include data governance and modelling technical documentation, API building, securing and governance between systems of records and the Datawarehouse.

    Application Architecture

    • This area focuses on the design and interaction of application systems, linking them to business processes. It aims to ensure systems are integrated and avoid duplication.
    • Key areas include system integration and software selection, especially between Park, Region and Head Office. Often Operational functional will overlap across business functions and then handoff from one area to the next needs to be managed by systems and data flows.
    • The EA needs to ensure vendors clearly map this, the supporting technical documentation is in place and systems are built to meet these needs.

    Technology (or Infrastructure) Architecture

    • This domain describes the necessary software, hardware, and network infrastructure to support applications. The goal is to build a secure, stable, and scalable technical foundation.
    • Key areas include cloud computing and network security - especially between parks and head office where connectivity is not always guaranteed at the park level (but PMUs do require offline transactional capabilities).

    Requirements

    Minimum qualifications:

    • Valid Togaf certification. Alternatively, a BSc Computer Science Honours with these corresponding majors subjects.
    • 3-5 years minimum in the role of an Enterprise Architecture and 3-5 years on a similar-scale organization in Microsoft Azure.
    • Microsoft Azure Advanced Administrator certifications:
    • AZ-104 (Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate)
    • AZ-305 (Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
    • AZ-500 (Microsoft Azure Security Technologist)
    • AZ-400 (Microsoft DevOps Solution Architect - Designing and Implementing)
    • DP-700 (Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer)

    Advantageous, but not mandatory:

    • AZ204 (Microsoft Azure Developer Associate)
    • Prior certification: DP-203 (Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate)
    • DP300 (Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate)
    • DP600 (Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate.)

    Minimum skills and experience

    • A portfolio of evidence to demonstrate their experience in all of the 4 EA portfolios (Data, Applications, Business, Tech).
    • Strong interpersonal skills to be able to engage technical and strategic stakeholders to elicit clear requirements and technical specifications.
    • References of past work experience reveals that the incumbent takes initiative and effectively engages business stakeholders (at different levels).
    • The incumbent must be able to demonstrate (through prior work experience) their ability to define, write, critique and set the standards for documentation from this portfolio (from BRS, FRS, TDD and SDKS and logical designs to DRP, BCP, SOPS).
    • The incumbent should be highly passionate about conservation, sustainability and nature.
