Job Description

• The General Worker’s primary purpose is to provide support to the Waste Control Drivers and to provide professional, efficient and accurate service to customers where materials are being collected.

Responsibilities (NOT limited to the below):

• Assist and support the Driver with general duties
• Guide the Driver in and out of confined spaces if and when required
• Responsible for keeping the truck clean and neat
• Fill the truck with diesel at the diesel pumps
• Keep the Waste Control yard clean when truck is not operational
• Assist with spill cleanups at the Waste Control Yard and at customers premises
• General duties as instructed by Drivers or Controllers
• Ensure that all loads are secured and covered at all times
• To work in a safe manner not to endanger himself or other persons and property
• Adhere to specific tasks as stated on the different Standard operating procedures

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

• Minimum Grade 12
• Attention to detail
• Willingness to work overtime and on public holidays during the December period
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Ability to function efficiently in pressurized work situations
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
