Tender Buyer - Durban at Stefanutti Stocks

Primary duties will include:

• Timeously obtain vendor prices that comply with tender conditions and specifications.
• Assist with adjudication of vendors for the inclusion in the Regions tenders.
• Provide tender support, preparation and analysis according to tender specifications and requirements.
• Build strong relations with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain supplier sub-contractor database.
• Assist in finding alternate suppliers and materials, investigate with the help from the Quality department to approve supplies / vendors.
• Meet with potential vendor representatives to improve product knowledge and negotiate buying options.
• Remain abreast of tender activities within the department.
• Compile and ensure sign off of Tender Approval
• Participate in departmental meetings for the allocation of estimating resources to compile and distribute the weekly estimating bulletin.
• Ensure all standard company information required to complete the bid is timeously available and up to date for tender inclusion.
• Ensure sufficient arrangements have been made for the delivery of each tender submission.
• Ensure the efficient and effective administration of all documentation from inception to final archiving, in compliance with departmental procedures.

Requirements

• Grade 12 and relevant qualification and exposure to the construction environment
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in a financial costing or procurement environment of which at least 5 years experience in construction estimating & tendering.
• Working knowledge and understanding of CCS. Prepare BOQ’s into CCS for pricing
• Extreme attention to detail
• Must have excellent negotiation skills
• Good interpersonal and time management skills.
• Valid Drivers’ License
