Test Automation Engineer (Mid – Senior) – (Cape Town – Hybrid) at Datafin Recruitment

ENVIRONMENT:

• A Company who builds and scales AI, SaaS and Talent platforms, is currently looking for an AI-enabled Full Stack Developer to build and scale modern SaaS platforms where AI is embedded in core product functionality.
• You will work on production-grade systems including AI-driven automation, sentiment analysis, review processing, and decision engines. This role is focused on delivering scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems in a fast-paced international environment.

DUTIES:

• Design, build, and maintain full stack applications (frontend + backend)
• Integrate and orchestrate AI services (LLMs, APIs, workflows)
• Develop scalable APIs and microservices
• Translate business requirements into AI-powered features
• Ensure reliability of AI systems (validation, guardrails, fallback logic)
• Optimize performance across frontend, backend, and AI layers
• Collaborate on system architecture and technical design
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes

REQUIREMENTS:

Tech Stack Expectations

• Frontend: React or Angular, TypeScript
• Backend: Java (Spring Boot), .NET (ASP.NET Core), or Python (FastAPI/Django)
• AI Stack: LangChain / LlamaIndex / OpenAI API or similar LLM integrations
• Infrastructure: Cloud (AWS/Azure), APIs, CI/CD pipelines (preferred)

Core Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience as Full Stack Developer
• Proven experience delivering production-grade applications
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and system integration
• Experience with SQL databases
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows
• Ability to work independently and deliver end-to-end features
• Strong English communication skills

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
• Vector databases (e.g. Pinecone, Weaviate)
• Docker / Kubernetes
• CI/CD pipelines
• Experience in SaaS or platform environments
