    Timetable Oversight Specialist

    ROLE SUMMARY:

    • We are seeking an experienced Timetable Oversight Specialist to join our global academic operations team, based in Johannesburg.Working across both Northern and Southern Hemisphere schools, the specialist will provide expert guidance, quality assurance, and technical support to school-based timetable staff, ensuring timetable accuracy, consistency, and alignment with curriculum and staffing frameworks. This is a strategic, oversight-focused role, designed to strengthen timetable capability across the Inspired network and ensure each school’s timetable optimally supports teaching, learning, and resource management.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support, train, and mentor school-based timetable staff to ensure best practice in timetable construction. 
    • Verify school timetable staff access and functionality within aSc Timetables. 
    • Review timetables for structural and data integrity, ensuring full alignment with the approved grid. 
    • Identify and resolve inconsistencies including: 
    • Mismatched or duplicated periods. 
    • Split doubles or overlapping classes. 
    • Multiple staff assigned to a single group. 
    • Unbalanced subject or staffing allocations. 
    • Monitor progress against published scheduling milestones. 
    • Advise schools on subject blocking and line design, particularly for senior phase subject selections. 
    • Support the central grid team with data extraction and analysis during peak scheduling cycles. 
    • Review timetable uploads into iSAMS, ensuring full accuracy and consistency with the grid. 
    • Provide strategic advice where timetabling challenges impact curriculum delivery or staff utilisation. 
    • Produce clear, data-driven reports for academic and operational leadership. 

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in school timetabling (secondary or senior phase). 
    • Advanced proficiency in aSc Timetables software, including seminars and divisions. 
    • Strong analytical capability with advanced Microsoft Excel skills. 
    • Proven experience managing timetables for multi-site schools, cross-phase teaching, and part-time staff. 
    • Deep understanding of curriculum structures and subject blocking methodologies. 
    • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and training skills. 
    • Tertiary qualification (e.g. BA degree or Higher Diploma in Education or related field). 
    • Based in Johannesburg, with the flexibility to support global schools across multiple time zones. 
    • Experience with iSAMS or similar school management systems. 
    • Familiarity with multiple curricula (IEB, Cambridge, IB, or national frameworks). 
    • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage concurrent projects.
