Bridges For Music & Bridges Academy is looking to employ a Temporary and Part-TimeTourism and Study Abroad Coordinator
The Bridges Academy is a creative learning space in Langa, offering unemployed youth from under-resourced communities an inspiring and safe environment with access to world-class technology, mentorship and education designed to help them thrive in the world.

As part of our strategy to generate revenue with offer a variety of tourism and study abroad programs, we are looking for someone to develop this part of the business and help mentor the current team to take these offerings to the next level. This person will be reporting directly to the Program Director and will have freedom in developing the business. The duration of the contract will be 3-6 months with the possibility of extending. Anticipated hours would be 15 hours per week, the majority of which would be conducted at the Bridges Academy in Langa, Cape Town.

Ideal candidate would have:

• Excellent people skills
• Matric
• Sales/ Marketing or Tourism qualification advantageous
• Experience in creating and running tourism offerings, particularly to international clients
• Experience in creating and running study abroad programs for international students
• Through knowledge of South Africa´s history and township history
• Passionate about community development
• A flair for creating meaningful and enjoyable experiences which showcase South African heritage Knowledge of South African music advantageous
• Extremely organised with timelines and budgets
• Strong in Google Workplace
• Proven track record of managing spreadsheets and budgets
• Good client management skills

Main Goals:

• Develop the overall business and marketing strategy regarding study abroad and tourism at the Bridges Academy
• Develop robust systems and processes for managing and developing study abroad and tourism at the Bridges Academy
• Develop and improve tourist and study abroad offerings
• Oversee/lead the delivery of study abroad and tourist services
• Prepare tourism and study abroad budgets
• Develop partnerships with hotels, guest houses, tour operators, study abroad providers and universities while also create ways to connect directly with visitors to South Africa
• Grow the local team and mentor them to ultimately take over Tourism and Study Abroad department
• Oversee local team in gaining tour operator certification
