Trainee Fund Accountant - Cape Town at SANNE

Job Description

We are seeking a Trainee Fund Accountant, reporting to a Manager within the Debt Division of Sanne, to have responsibility for the preparations of accurate portfolio valuations on a timely basis. You will typically be responsible for the accounting of a number of portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Working with the Manager to ensure the completion of NAVs, Management Reporting and Statutory;
2. Reporting of corporate entities to ensure the team;
3. Liaising with fund managers, brokers, and custodians;
4. Ensure that client responsibilities are managed;
5. Assisting the external auditors to ensure the audit;
6. Preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual NAV’s,;
7. Management accounts and IPD’s;
8. Preparation of annual statutory financials statements;
9. Assisting with cash management and bank payments;
10. Responsibility for all bookkeeping of clients in complies with all of its accounting and regulatory obligations and requirements including listing requirements and client reporting; to communicate information and resolve issues on a timely basis; effectively and to agreed client, best practice, regulatory and statutory deadlines; function is executed on a timely and efficient basis; and portfolio.

1. Commerce degree with:
2. Financial Accounting 3
3. Taxation 1
4. Auditing 1 OR Internal Auditing 2 OR Internal Control & code of Ethics
5. Corporate Law 1 OR Commercial Law 2
6. Management accounting;
7. Proficient in MS Excel;
8. Structural and detail orientated;
9. Good analytical and problem solving skills;
10. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
11. Ability to prioritise work and meet strict deadlines;
12. Excellent communication and organisation skills;
13. Motivated and driven and Financial sector and Fund knowledge will be a distinct advantage.
