Job Description    

A stitch out of place, a slip of the seam – you find a way to fix it! As a Garment Technologist, you ensure we maintain a high standard of fashionable quality for the consumer. Your technical knowledge and attention to detail aid you in making solid garment construction recommendations to maintain the quality standards of the business. This opportunity is based at our Head Office in Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities    

• Setting and maintaining of quality standards for the business
• Supporting suppliers in achieving the quality standards expected by Truworths
• Supporting and advising buying team in fit stages from design to manufacturing
• Approving merchandise for production
• Managing and reducing customer returns
• Product development

Qualifications and Experience   

• Tertiary qualification: clothing technology or related work experience
• Supplier experience is an added advantage
