Job-related Requirements

•     Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Driver training.
•     Experience in training on all types of trucks and trailers such as tippers, reafers, flatbeds etc with a focus on super links.
•     Must have own vehicle.
•     Must have the ability to travel nationally as required. 
•     Sound communication ability.
•     Be able to work independently.
•     Results driven individual.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

• Training and development of DSV Owned Vehicle Drivers as well as route assessments in line with operational requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

•     The person will be dealing with new technology in terms of rating drivers based on their fuel consumption and driving habits.
•     On-site yard testing of proposed new Drivers.
•     The Driver Trainer will spend time travelling with the drivers and asses and monitor those that are high risk. 
•     The Driver Trainer will maintain records of driver behaviour and track improvements so drivers are able to meet KPI’s.
•     Upskilling of Drivers.
•     Live and on-site training on all aspects of Driver requirements such as;
  •     Company Code of Conduct
  •     Client specific requirements
  •    Mobile Appication utilization
  •     Fuel consumption
  •     Speeding and excessive idling
  •     Health and Safety
  •     Correct PPE and Company Branded uniform
  •     Strapping and securing of loads
  •     Use of chock-blocks and other safety precautions
  •     Correct way of working with curtains and upright
