    Travel Consultant

    We currently have a position available for a Junior- Mid-Level Travel Consultant . You need to be someone who loves the idea of joining a young entrepreneurial travel business and who finds the idea of learning and growing as our business grows, an exciting prospect. Our team is small but our ambition is to consistently deliver the best African travel experiences.

    You will be responsible for the design and presentation of new tailored travel itineraries to sell iconic African destinations to travellers around the world. We partner with some of the leading hospitality brands in Africa who entrust their guests to us.

    This role covers everything from the original planning stages of each client’s travel, the preparation of the traveler for their journey and delivery of each aspect of the itinerary as well as any post travel services. You will not only be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients but also with service providers.

    You are best suited for this position if you pay attention to detail and have a passion for creating the most memorable travel experiences for clients. We’d like to have you in our team, if you thrive in a sales environment, want to grow with the company and are happy to work for a salary that consists of a basic and a success-dependent component.

    The scope of the role at large includes (but is not limited to) the following:

    • Consulting with clients to understand the needs of the client
    • Preparing quotations for clients that best suits their expectations and budget using our digital operating systems.
    • Efficiently and effectively action the travel booking process at all levels
    • Provide clients with all the necessary travel information
    • Being the contact person throughout the planning and travelling phase
    • Distributing travel documentation
    • Collecting client payments
    • Approving and submitting supplier invoices for payment

    Skills and Experience:

    • Travel industry experience (minimum: travel sales experience at an inbound tour operator: 2-5 years)
    • Good product knowledge, East Africa and Southern African destinations
    • Preferably B2C and B2B experience
    • Effective communicator, written and verbal.
    • Organised, methodical and detailed.
    • Be able to deliver a consistent client service from beginning to end
    • Additional languages (German or Spanish) an advantage
    • Have a positive attitude
    • Have fun, be passionate and be driven by excellence
    • Highest standard of customer service
    • Willingness to support other team members (we are a small team)
    • Happy to get involved in a wide range of tasks and learn new skills
