Manufacture components using conventional lathe and CNC Milling machines as per the designs
Measure and certify all machined parts, including outsourced components
Modify and machine incomplete outsourced components from suppliers to required tolerances
Ensure integrated parts fit together according to required tolerances
Give tooling design inputs where necessary
Machine and manufacture parts and components from raw materials into finished products, using different types of material i.e., Brass, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, etc.
Do surface and cylindrical grinding activities
Compile BOMs to order material and spares
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
Grade 12/ N3 Technical qualification or equivalent.
Trade Test as a Turner Machinist
Over 5 years experience in conventional Milling machines as an operator & setter
Over 5 years experience in CNC milling\turning Machines (Fanuc controls)
Over 5 years experience in the use of conventional lathe
CNC programming knowledge and experience will be advantageous
CNC competency certificate will be advantageous
Knowledge of Edge cam software will be advantageous
An in-depth understanding and working knowledge of the manufacturing environment
Contract/contractor management knowledge and skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience in planning and implementation of work activities
Good understanding of explosive environment regulations
Interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with multiple disciplines both internally and externally.
