Turner Machinist - Potchefstroom at Rheinmetall Denel Munition

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Manufacture components using conventional lathe and CNC Milling machines as per the designs
• Measure and certify all machined parts, including outsourced components
• Modify and machine incomplete outsourced components from suppliers to required tolerances
• Ensure integrated parts fit together according to required tolerances
• Give tooling design inputs where necessary
• Machine and manufacture parts and components from raw materials into finished products, using different types of material i.e., Brass, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, etc.
• Do surface and cylindrical grinding activities
• Compile BOMs to order material and spares

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

• Grade 12/ N3 Technical qualification or equivalent.
• Trade Test as a Turner Machinist
• Over 5 years experience in conventional Milling machines as an operator & setter
• Over 5 years experience in CNC milling\turning Machines (Fanuc controls)
• Over 5 years experience in the use of conventional lathe
• CNC programming knowledge and experience will be advantageous
• CNC competency certificate will be advantageous
• Knowledge of Edge cam software will be advantageous
• An in-depth understanding and working knowledge of the manufacturing environment
• Contract/contractor management knowledge and skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience in planning and implementation of work activities
• Good understanding of explosive environment regulations
• Interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with multiple disciplines both internally and externally.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Computer literacy: MS Packages and SAP
