Underwriter - Johannesburg at Lexdan Select

Lexdan Select is assisting an Engineering Insurance agency with their search for an Underwriter, based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Functions:

• Analysis and understanding of technical documentation received and insurance terms and conditions
• Assessing the characteristics of the risk, in order to determine its consistency with the company's underwriting principles and applicable insurance terms and conditions
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders
• Pro-actively liaise with relevant stakeholders when new business is underwritten

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
• Curiosity, proactivity, analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent decision-making, time management and deadline management skills
