    User Experience Designer (UX Designer)

    Job Objectives    

    • Assist the design team and product managers in the conceptualisation of viable and disruptive product ideas.
    • Identify potential opportunities for new products as well as product, user interaction and customer experience improvements.
    • Drive customer-led design thinking across omnichannel digital channels.
    • Develop, improve and promote delightful out-of-platform customer experiences (onboarding, customer service, internal servicing etc.).
    • Continuously seek to validate hypotheses and business lead decisions through user feedback (analytics, user research, behavioural observation, etc.).
    • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers, engineers and business stakeholders.
    • Using qualitative and quantitative insights, translate well-defined user problems into intuitive, delightful user experiences.
    • Develop personas, storyboards, process flows, sitemaps, wireframes and prototypes aligned to customer needs and preferences.
    • Work within, define and build on a design system patterns, behaviours and standards.
    • Work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to find elegant, yet practical, solutions to design challenges.
    • Remain abreast of and understand competitor products and current trends in UX technology to inform current solutions. Continuously make recommendations to improve effectiveness.


    • Degree completed or in progress in IT, Computer Science, Business or equivalen


    • +2 years experience as UX / UI Designer or similar role
    • Experience in user centered design and customer lead digital experiences


    • Experience in successfully launching mobile, web, and platform product features
    • Exposure to and experience in analytics and big data

    Knowledge and Skills    

    • Demonstrable knowledge of the following:
    • User experience principles, design standards, and platform behaviour for digital products, including but not limited to mobile applications, and Point of Sale.
    • Design tools, namely Azure, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Invision, and Articulate Storyline.
    • Digital customer design development (i.e. user experience design, wireframing, AB testing, customer research etc.)


    • Statutory requirements, applying and monitoring relevant laws, regulations and best practices as they relate to UX, technologies and end users
    • Understanding of the African digital landscape and customers
    • Understanding of digital marketing and traditional media
