Utilities Assistant at Belgotex Floors

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as housekeeping, repairing, and inspecting of the utilities equipment (Effluent plant, Boiler plant, Compressor room, Cooling towers, Chiller room, Gas plant and Pumphouse).
• Adhere to safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe work environment.
• Assist in the installation of utility systems and equipment.
• Daily condition-based monitoring of the equipment and systems ensuring that they are functioning properly.
• Identify and report any issues or malfunctions to the Utilities Foreman.
• Coal mixing, ensuring the coal does not stay for too long in the Coal Bunker.
• Ensure that all water treatment stations are functioning properly, record and file chemical stock levels.
• Assist maintenance building team.
• Operate and maintain utility systems such as Compressors, Cooling towers and air conditioning (HVAC) system.

Requirements

• Grade12/Matric
• Must be able to move, lift or carry heavy objects
• Must have experience with operating plant equipment
• Must be a team player
• Must have ability to work at heights and confined spaces.
• Fault finding ability and quick response to safety hazards.
• Must be able to work overtime when requested.
• Must have a natural aptitude for working with tools.
• Must have knowledge on basic building and equipment maintenance and daily checklists
