Van Assistant Permanent Part-Time at AVI Limited

• We’re seeking a VAN ASSISTANT, Permanent Part-time to drive success at Indigo Brands in Epping, Cape Town. This role is designed to assist with all the delivery functions, related to Indigo and AVI deliveries.       

Reporting Structure:

Reports to: Transport Controller
Key Areas of Impact:
Professional representation of the company while performing delivery duties

• Ensure that proper PPE is worn at all.
• Ensure overall clean and neat presentation at all times.
• Adhere to customer’s site policies and procedures.

Collection and delivering of documents or parcels at various suppliers and vendors

• Assists the driver with the collection and delivering of miscellaneous.
• Ensure that all goods collected or delivered has the correct Proof of Delivery (POD) attached.

Special Customer deliveries

• Assist the driver with the delivering of urgent orders in the Cape Town area, irrespective whether the customer’s proposed delivery time is outside normal working hours.
• Assist with local deliveries at all times.
• Ensure that all local deliveries are 100% checked whilst loading with
• As required by the various distribution centres assist with early deliveries or night
• Ensure the correct delivery documents are attached and recorded in the security
• Ensure signed POD is handed back to the Debrief
• Ensure that all short or extra stocks are accompanied by a credit note and report it immediately to the Debriefer Clerks and Transport Controller.

Safety and Housekeeping

• Ensure that all safety and housekeeping standards are adhered to and report unsafe
• Communicate any ideas or suggestions that may improve on the safety or housekeeping of the working environment to the necessary incumbent.
• Maintain good housekeeping principals in the working

Attend Green Area meetings

To participate in Green Areas:

• discuss any problems that may occur
• make suggestions in terms of work flow improvements
• ensure that Green Area is always neat and tidy
• Adhere to Green Area’s code of conduct for a meeting

• Grade 12 / Matric

• Valid Code 14 Drivers license
