Vehicle Examiner at Breede Valley Municipality

Duties:

• Ensure that the details on the roadworthy application form is correct and that the prescribed fees has been paid before commencing the roadworthy test Identify the vehicle by verifying the vehicles identification number (VIN) as well as the engine number
• Conduct vehicle inspections in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act of 1996 and SANS: 10047 – 2009 (Edition 6) Completes test results and hand copy of defect list to the applicant
• Discuss defect list with applicant and explain prescribed period of 14 days to rectify the defects identified and produce his/her vehicle for a retest
• Capture the test results and authorise the transaction on the National Information System (E-Natis) Authorize the issuing of the roadworthy certificate Check and control that all equipment are in a good working condition according to the National Road Traffic Act and specifications of the South African Bureau of Standards according to the National Road Traffic Act and specifications of the South African Bureau of Standards
•  Ensure that all equipment are in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act and specifications of the South African Bureau of Standards Ensure that Health and Safety procedures are adhered to according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Computer Literacy: MS Office
• Examiner of motor vehicle’s certificate (Grade A)
• 1 years’ experience
• Valid Code EC & A Driver’s license
• Must be mentally & physically fit
• Proficient in at least 2 of the 3 official languages in the Western Cape
