Warehouse Associate - Johannesburg at Maersk Line

Responsibilities:

• Verify the accuracy of inbound and outbound shipping documents, ensuring correct quantities, labels, and documentation.
• Support the Customer Service and Yard Operations teams with data entry, reporting, and customer communication.
• Coordinate documentation for incoming freight, ensuring completion accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor and track incoming containers and inventory accuracy, conducting physical counts and reconciling discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, adhering to safety protocols.
• Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, proficiently and safely.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and inventory management.
• Collaborate with warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure efficient task completion.
• Maintain accurate records and reports using computerized systems and software.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience in material handling, general warehouse work, or similar roles.
• Basic understanding of warehouse systems and operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks accurately.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Physical capability to lift, carry, and move items of various weights and sizes.
• Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with computerized systems and software.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
