Warehouse Operator / Forklift at Essity

About The Role

We are looking for a 3-month Fixed Term Contract Material Handler to embrace this dynamic opportunity and join our Warehouse team based at our Pinetown manufacturing site. The individual will be responsible for the stacking of raw materials in relevant stores, the assembly and safe transportation of raw material orders to various factories. This person will be responsible to clear the waste material from factories on a daily basis and the off-load of containers and/or suppliers' vehicle. The incumbent will adhere to health and safety requirements and at all-times consider workers and company property whilst practicing safe driving methods.

What You Will Do

• Ensure goods received and approved from suppliers are correctly stacked in locations allocated by the Floor Supervisor.
• Assemble raw materials for factories as required by Issues Clerk, following the FIFO principle.
• Transport goods to the required factories.
• Safely off-load all raw materials from the trailers at various factories, load materials and empty pallets to return to RMS.
• Ensure safe off-loading of products from containers and supplier vehicle in accordance with priority indicated by Supervisor.
• Pick up and return goods from factories or around the site to RMS as required by the Supervisor.
• Clear waste material from various factories to the reclamation yard on a daily basis.
• Partake in stock take (including year-end) in RMS.
• Assist in RMS functions deemed necessary and reasonable by the Supervisor.
• Follow 5S, safe driving practices, material handling and lifting

Who You Are

• Must have Matric with basic numerical skills
• Must have a minimum of 3 years warehouse experience
• Must work well within a team and independently.
• Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Must have high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must have experience in driving a hyster, tractor and reach truck and have relevant licenses thereof.
