Waterfall Estate, Midrand | Au Pair | R12500 - R13000 at Au Pair Extraordinaire

• Area: Waterfall Estate, Midrand
• Ages: 10 year old daughter Grade 5 and 12 year old in Grade 6
• Working hours: Friday Morning 06:30 – 07:30 and then Mon – Fri afternoons 14:30 - 18:30. Two afternoons per week will run until 19:00 for gymnastics practice.
• School holiday hours: Same Hours as above. Parents may request the hours to be done at different times, but this will be at the candidate’s availability.

Duties: 

• Take the children to school on a Friday morning if available. Collect the children from school, take to extra murals, assist with homework, school assignments, test and exam preparation.
• Packing school bags and extra mural bags for the following day. Packing lunches, liaising with teachers and coaches on the children and reverting back to the parents. Occasional stay overs while parents are away on work (Adhoc and paid overtime). Running errands for the family and grocery shopping. 

Requirements: 

• A well organised, female Au pair who has good experience with the age groups and able to assist with homework and help figure out any problem areas. Someone who can assist with Maths and Afrikaans homework until at least Grade 7.
• Coding and Zulu experience would be a bonus. Someone who takes initiative, can handle a busy schedule and active and enjoys creative activities and keeping children busy and away from screen time.
• International Au Pairing experience would be a great advantage. Someone who has a valid passport and is interested and open to traveling with the family, both locally and internationally.
• Organised, quick thinker, playful but can be firm and takes constructive feedback well. The parents travel for work quite a lot and someone who can adjust and step in if and when needed. The role includes quite a bit of driving.
• Start date: 01 September 2026 – Permanent contract. The family would like the candidate to commit to two years if possible.
• Salary: R12500 - R13000 per month (gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.95) for any driving done directly for the family. Not to get to and from work.

All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
• Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record
• Must have a passion for children
• Must have Matric
• Must have a South African ID document.
