    Winders Regional Resource Manager

    Job Description Summary

    • The primary responsibility of the Resource Manager is to develop competitive strategies to effectively support hiring, training , assigning and retaining employees for the OSS business. The Resource Manager will work closely with Customers, Service Managers, recruitment, HR and Service Directors to accomplish these objectives.
    • All resources, and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    Effectively manage a variable workforce of Winders throughout Middle East & Africa, to maintain a world class, highly mobile team.

    • Look after the optimal utilization of the team
    • Staffing job assignments.
    • Interacts with COE when resources are needed
    • Support recruiting.
    • Work scheduling
    • Outage planning
    • Utilizing workload forecasting and projected supply of resources, ensure future resource demands are met, specifically:
    • Interface with customer in order to schedule and coordinate equipment and personnel movement to meet customer’s requirements
    • Provide work direction to winders to effectively resolve conflicts and motivate individuals to perform as a team
    • Schedule and coordinate routine and emergency equipment maintenance activities
    • Maximize the effectiveness of the field operation through careful project planning and leveraging of entire Inspection Services team to minimize costs and increase overall customer satisfaction
    • Effectively communicate with the customer, Inspection Services headquarters personnel, and GE site representatives during pre-job planning, inspection execution, and post outage meetings
    • Provide accurate billing information to the accounting center for proper invoicing of inspection projects.
    • Support, track, drive and take lead on visa processing, renewals, site gate pass.
    • Developing annual hiring plans with input from the P&L, ITO, customers
    • Manage and track the utilization of employees.
    • Also, develop methods and seek opportunities for cross-utilization of employees across other segments.
    • Provide periodic reports to senior management on the status of resources, forecast and demand.

    Required Qualifications

    • Experience as Generator specialist
    • Experience in Generator winding operations.
    • Experience in electro-mechanical operations of various types relating to low voltage test operations
    • Experience of Generator testing , and inspections.
    • Excellent Spoken, Written Skills in English
    • Must have strong skills in written and oral communication, critical thinking.
    • Must be able to handle multiple projects/assignments concurrently and be very results-oriented. The candidate will be highly motivated and work well both independently and in a team environment.
    • Willingness to travel when required

    Desired Characteristics

    • Has the knowledge and skill to actively support.
    • Experience and training on Alstom, Siemens, or other OEM equipment is preferred
    • Very Good attitude to manage relationships with customers, concerning technical and contractual aspects.
    • Follow up all quality aspects according to six sigma approach and GE QA manual and procedures.
    • Working knowledge and application of EHS rules.
    • Effective communication to HQs, through company e-tools
    • Very Good organizational skills
    • Prior project management experience
    • Very Good project management skills
    • Very Good oral and written communication skills
    • Very Good interpersonal and leadership skills
    • Very Good business acumen and ability to sell GE products to the customer
    • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, schedule, motivate and train others
    • 4-year degree
    • Project Management experience  
    • Experience in a customer service organization
    • Six Sigma Greenbelt
