Skills:

• Above average technical competency in the turbo generator engineering, maintenance, refurbishment and overhaul.
• Above average strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of management skill
• High level of investigative skills and technical negotiation skills
• High level of computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel, Ms Power Point, Ms Projects and CAD
• Effective English communication skills, and able to communicate at all levels in the organisation.

Knowledge:

• Above average engineering and technical knowledge of turbo generator and power generation equipment components and systems
• Knowledge of Quality management systems and relevant ISO standards.

Attributes:

• The incumbent will be required to travel extremely nationally and internally based on the business requirements
• Must have the ability to effectively lead and direct large team of engineers
• Meticulous, Hardworking, Punctual, Self-Starter, Disciplined and resilient

Minimum requirements
Qualification(s):

• M-tech or B-Tech Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 15 years related engineering experience, or
• MSc/BEng Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years related engineering experience
• The following will be advantageous: Post Graduate Qualifications & Pr Eng OR Pr, Tech Eng

 Experience:

• Experience specifically related to the engineering aspects of maintenance, refurbishment and overhaul of large power Generation steam and Gas Turbo Generator Plant
• Generator stator rewind and leak repairs on various designs
• Generator rotor modification and rewind
• Thermal sensitivity test and root cause analysis on failures
• Experience of quality management systems and relevant ISO standards
