Having spent over 22 years working extensively in the travel industry, both locally and abroad, our founder Chris Owen-Collett came to realize what has been eroded in the travel industry-the ability for people to dream up, plan, and to genuinely customize their own travel experience. Chris spent yea... read morers paying attention to the unique challenges common to the travel industry. Listening to what his business clients and travellers needed, what they found challenging, and what they loved about the overall experience of travelling. Armed with that insider knowledge, and a strong desire to improve on the complete travel cycle experience for the traveller, coupled with a deep passion for Africa, he started CAT-Africa. An efficient and effortless way to plan, craft, book and experience authentic and bespoke travel experiences in Southern Africa.
CAT-Africa is committed to empowering travellers ' ownership of the complete travel cycle; dreaming, planning, booking, travelling, and through to sharing the experience upon returning home. This is not to say that help and advice from local experts is not an important element. It should be an element to be tapped into only if needed or wanted; too often a 'one shoe fits all approach’ is adopted by those selling travel. Advances in technology have disrupted this cycle, and enabled us to develop custom software that empowers you, the consumer, to create and experience the trip you desire. Thus creating a more balanced interaction between traveller and travel professional, with this balance ultimately decided upon by the traveller. At CAT-Africa, through our unique and technologically advanced travel site, we are putting more of the individual back into the travel cycle. The option to get help, advice and support from local experts, we believe is still important, and is provided as an option, when required.
