THE PURPOSE OF THE LOGISTIC COORDINATOR ROLE IS TO:

• Oversee executing physical flows of the goods (purchased and manufactured items): Incoming, Receipting, Pack away, Storage, Picking and line feeding, packing, shipping, inventory management, materials handling. Your target is to align physical and systems flows.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:

• Notify Warehouse Mgmt. of all safety, site keeping or maintenance issues that are found during inspection that require assistance
• Execute Information system update & ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) transaction before each physical movement by using IT tools (mobile device) in place in your site to manage correctly the system flow
• Know and use the ERP transactions to align physical and system flows and know the interactions between them
• Detect, treat anomalies and know how to report those that cannot be resolved to their manager
• Prioritize its activities according to emergencies (manage missing parts, …)
• Apply rules in order to operate in an environment that complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies:
• Know and follow all safety, environmental and emergency procedures
• Respect the safety conditions to handle goods, trolleys etc.
• Actively participate in all aspects of safety including reporting of near misses and meetings
• Ensure the preservation of materials during all processes (handling, storage, line feeding, NCR, shipment, ...)
• Participate in the continuous improvement of the processes by being a force of proposal
• Apply and respect the appropriate methodologies & processes
• As and when required can be expected to perform logistic operator activities to support the production line including but not limited to packing and shipping, picking & line feeding, supporting and perform daily and monthly cycle counts, scraping after receiving management authorization according to best practices, capturing and performing goods receipt using ERP system 

The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements: 

• Higher Certificate/ Adv diploma in Supply Chain
• Fluent in English
• National travel might be required; therefore the candidate must be flexible and willing in this regard.

• Must be able to work night shift and day shift when required

THE PURPOSE OF THE SECTION LEADER ROLE IS TO:

• Without a hierarchical role, you will be the relay of the EPU Manager and animates as a referent of the Autonomous team the achievement of the SQCDP objectives, encourages the continuous improvement of the autonomous team and the cohesion of the team. Guarantor of the daily holding of the Autonomous Team short term interval animation, “5” minutes meeting and communicates regularly with its EPU daily to inform/ escalate urgent matters.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:

EHS

• Ensure the application of the start up checklist by the team
• Put in place precautionary measures for issues identified during start up (mainly during staggered hours)
• Animate the traceability of EHS related deviations on the board, ensure timeous updates and escalate all the time (i.e EHS cross, PDCA, PPE)
• SAFETY : Alert when there is a risky situation and mitigate the immediate risk.
• Participate in the update of the PGI
• Respect, comply and apply all EHS rules.

Costs

• Check the operation and information of AOS (100% connection/balance of work orders)
• PERFORMANCE : Propose solutions when the SQCD performance is below target 

Time limit

• On a daily basis, ensures the progress of the schedule and the compliance of rotations on time (with the AOS interface in cases where this is deployed)

Quality

• Deal with 1st level of quality concerns raised by team members
• Interface with support functions to resolve 1st level quality issues based on analysis that was done
• Guarantor of the follow-up of the treatment of discrepancies and timeous resolution there off
• Engages a pre-rotation check when the job is done
• Informs about the parts/sub-sections of parts available for IQ inspection and alerts if not in the criteria to make the rotation
• Follow the completion of rework/snags and close them before the rotation to the next workstation
• Ensures that the line blocking points (“aleas”) or defects encountered are identified in MES/AOS
• Ensure escalation and reporting of quality issues to Work Centre Manager if it cannot be dealt with by the Team Lead
• Alert when the standard ways of working or not respected (Work instructions, special processes rules, quality rules, lifting plans)
• Comply with all internal customers’ requirements.

Continuous improvement :

• Ensure that job rotation is implemented in autonomous team
• Ensure that handover of task from one person/day to the other is seamless and without impact
• 5S : Proposes 5S continuous improvement actions/Kaizen

First line People supervision:

• Ensure first line supervision of team member on the floor during daily activities and ensure that any concerns, issues, stoppages are addressed or escalated to be resolved asap.
• Report any employee maters to the Work Centre manager
• TEAM : Take the lead on actions and does the link with support function to manage improvement
• COMMUNICATION : Animate the team’s meeting

• Qualified Artisan as Welder, Boilermaker, Spray Painter (Red Seal)

Below the different key process activities where logistic operators can work :

INBOUND AND OUTBOUND FLOWS

• Perform goods receipt in a real time using ERP system and store correctly the materials in the stock (putaway)

STORAGE

• Apply safe conditions of storage (max. weight capacity) and EHS rules of hazardous materials
• Update the ERP on real time at each material movements (use the mobile devices)
• Proceed to scrap after receiving the management authorization

INVENTORY

• Respect and follow procedures for inventory counting rules (blind count, stock reconciliation and delegation of authority,)

PICKING & LINE FEEDING

• Perform the picking and kitting activities on time in ERP (picking-list, labels)  and prepare material for the production line at the expected level (parts individually identified, protected and easily accessible)
• Respect the footprint

PACKING & SHIPPING

• Treat the shipment request on time, realize packing, shipping activities at the right quality level

NCR LOGISTIC CELL

• Carry out the logistical processing of NCR (Non-Conformity Report) according to the established NCR process
• Track the NCR physically and in the system (segregated or jail area, blocked stock)
• Create purchase orders for NC parts, edit shipping orders and provide the parts to the shipping teams
• Create, treat and follow the logistics NCR based on the inputs provided by the teams (detection of non-compliance)
• Work closely with quality and material planning teams on a daily basis to solve and close the NCR within a reasonable delay

HANDLING

• Respect the handling and storage rules in force (have the required specific qualifications, driving license,
• Ensure proper housekeeping of the stores at all time, including stacking and storing of tools, material and equipment
• Participate in cost saving as far as possible.
• Maintain stores cleanliness and condition of demarcated areas

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years stores/warehouse experience 
• Fork-Lift Truck certification -
• Minimum of a Matric / Grade 12 certificate 
• Basic Stores Qualification or Technical qualification will be an advantage
• Logistics Management or Studying towards Logistics Management

EXPERIENCE

MANDATORY:
