    Senior Commercial Account Executive

    Job Summary

    • Accelerate Equinix’s growth in market share and revenue by penetrating new accounts and work cross-functionally to expand and grow existing accounts. Protect/expand revenue in assigned accounts and work cross-functionally to drive high customer satisfaction. Develop new accounts by working cross-functionally with specific emphasis in enterprise space.

    Responsibilities

    Build Customer Relationships

    • Plans, builds, and maintains relationships with key stakeholders in assigned accounts/prospects
    • Facilitates customer relationships to ensure timely resolution of customer issues
    • Conducts quarterly business reviews with customers to identify and develop new selling opportunities

    Leverage Internal & External Partners

    • Coordinates sales approach with the extended sales team (Sales Engineers, Solutions Architect, Customer Care, SSA, Commercial Solutions, Sales Operations, etc.) and external partners (Reseller, Strategic Alliance, etc.) · Demonstrates consistent intra-region selling and occasional cross region exports
    • Leverages network of peer representatives in strategic alliance and reseller partners to map and penetrate accounts

    Account Planning

    • Researches and documents detailed understanding of customer business and organizational landscape on select accounts
    • Develops account plans focused on maintaining/growing accounts

    Solution Selling

    • Identifies customer’s business needs, challenges, and technical requirements to match to Equinix solutions in partnership with SEs/SAs
    • Delivers pitch in partnership with SE/SAs and tailors pitch to customer needs
    • Proven proficiency of Equinix product set and solutions
    • Sells full suite of Equinix offerings to include global footprint
    • Leverages external partners to drive solution development in new areas/prospects

    Contract Renewals

    • Proactively addresses high churn risk customers leveraging internal resources and external partners
    • Facilitates customer contract renewals and negotiations to protect revenue
    • Leverages internal resources to understand customers contractual obligations around notice periods, renew terms, Equinix exposure

    Pipeline Management

    • Actively monitors and maintains status of opportunities in SFDC, following the principles of forecasting
    • Identifies at risk accounts, expiring contracts and forecasts churn

    Territory Planning

    • Prioritizes list of accounts/prospects for short and long-term pursuit to achieve assigned sales objectives
    • Provides accurate forecasts
    • May focus on particular vertical or sub-vertical within a dedicated sector

    Prospecting

    • Coordinates with Opportunity Development Team to strategize lead & sales opportunity qualification
    • Pursues highest propensity prospects, fills the funnel with opportunities; cold calling prospects and building industry contacts

    Negotiation

    • Facilitates commercial offer and contract negotiations in partnership with Sales Management, leveraging internal resources as needed to obtain best commercial terms possible
    • Understands commercial levers and partners with sales leadership, commercial solutions, and P&L to recommend deal structure

    Mentorship/Lead

    • Open to guidance from leadership and more senior Account Executives

    Qualifications

    • Proven years of experience preferred
    • Bachelor's Degree required

    Solutions Architect

    Job Summary

    • Supports strategic sales engagements, drives thought leadership in a cross functional manner, and supports the global sales strategy of Equinix to drive revenue in an assigned territory.
    • The role is responsible for providing technology and solution-based thought leadership, bridging the network, data centre and Cloud/IT infrastructure into repeatable offers.
    • Key focus areas include, but are not limited to, strategic sales engagements, development of offers, repeatable solutions, and use cases, focused on the five sales verticals within the Equinix Ecosystem (Network, Financial, Cloud, Content/Digital Media, and Enterprise).

    Responsibilities

    Strategic Sales Support

    • Provides basic technology solutioning support to Equinix global field and channel sales
    • Supports development of the account technology strategy (application of Equinix IOA) with Equinix Account Executives
    • Prepares and conducts Customer workshops
    • Prepares and delivers Customer presentations
    • Develops peer relationships with customers
    • Demonstrates Equinix values through the provision of credible and convincing reasoning through compelling solutions to have a customer choose Equinix

    Research and Development

    • Keeps up-to-date with the state of the art by utilizing the GSE Solution Development Framework
    • Collaborates on the research of relevant technology trends
    • Provides input on the analysis of technology impacts
    • Recommends to stakeholders based upon research finds

    Subject Matter Expertise

    • Maintains Industry awareness through training, reading, research, collaboration and industry event attendance

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Interfaces with fellow stakeholders in the products and solutions lifecycle such as in the EQUINIX CIO, CTO, CMO and CSO organizations on technology and service initiatives, new product introductions, technology roadmap, and commercial concerns

    Technology and Innovation Insights

    • Provides technical subject matter expertise to Sales, Marketing and the Industry through support in creating, developing and delivering content for proposals, marketing studies and marketing events
    • Supports the briefing of Sales teams on the impact of new technology
    • Supports the briefing of Sales teams on the features, restrictions and selling points of new Equinix products and offers

    Solution Development

    • Analyzes opportunities and problems within customer context, business plans, technological statuses, and strategic direction
    • Supports the development of solutions in technology, processes, organizational, impact, commercials, and implementation plans
    • Develops solution benefits and business cases for change
    • Shares findings in customer presentations

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in the functional domains of Network, Datacentre, Enterprise IT Systems, including implementation and technical support preferred
    • Solutions Selling experience in a commercial pre-sales position preferred
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline preferred
    • Advanced industry certifications (i.e. Cisco, VMware, MS, AWS) preferred
