RESPONSIBILITIES
Business/ Functional Management
- Carry out work for them and their team in accordance with specifications and within standards and productivity goals.
- Follow instructions on construction methods for them and their team, as directed by site agent.
- Supply information to assist site agent with client liaison.
- Liaise with general workers and operators by having discussions with them on site about performance, methods, progress and quality.
- Supply technical input where necessary and possible.
Financial, Commercial & Contracts Management
- Ensure full compliance to material usage requirements in executing of their duties.
- Work with materials and equipment in a cost effective way, as per standard operating procedures and practice notes as directed by line manager.
Risk management & Compliance, Incl. ESG Responsibility
- Execute all duties in strict compliance to SHEQ policies, procedures and legislation, to ensure the company’s responsibility is met.
- Comply with all reporting and information requirements, as set by the Site agent.
Operations & Project Management
- Contribute to plan/ schedule generation for daily/ shift work, in line with project goals.
- Responsible for operational execution of work assigned to them, through delivery of their own tasks and duties, as well as supervision of the work for the team on shift.
- Ensure your own and teams work is executed on time, in full, on standards and first time right, in support of operational goals and targets for their area; keep record as required by site agent.
- Operate the plant to meet production targets.
Carry out work-study exercises and investigate alternative methods as directed.
Management Operating System & Reporting
- Report to site agent on work progress.
- Ensure all paperwork and posters are displayed on the site office wall and kept up to date.
- Ensure current revisions of drawing are the ones being used on site.
Technical Management
- Responsible for adherence to technical standards and work methods, for their section in accordance with organisational and client requirements, policies, procedures and legislation.
- Execute all operations in their section in accordance with the quality and process standards, systems and work methods.
SHEQ Management
- Apply quality management and improvement processes in their area of responsibility.
- Assist line manager with results capturing, and quality assurance processes as required.

- 5 years experience working in construction environment

Description
- An existing opportunity exists to assist operations where FEL/ TLB/ Excavator/ ADT/ Grader/ Water Truck are required to make the operating environment safer and more convenient by excavating trenches, cleaning spillages, connecting pipes, and construction of deposition wall and maintenance of access roads.
- REQUIREMENTS
Production Requirements
- Operation of FEL, TLB Excavator, ADT, Grader and Water Truck to either load, dig, clean trenches or ditch slimes dam and maintenance of access roads and connecting pipes and building of deposition wall.
- Ensure that relevant SOP’s (Standard operating procedure) for the specific machine is followed at all times.
- Responsible for general housekeeping of the machine
- General inspection of the machine before and after the shift and complete inspection checklist.
- Adhere to safety rules and regulations.
Equipment
- Complete pre-shift inspection report at the beginning of every shift and report all faults and problems to the Supervisor.
- Inspect the equipment (machine) and the working area.
Operator Maintenance
- Operate and maintain equipment as per OEM operator manual specifications.
- Check condition of the machine.
- Always ensure cleanliness of machine.
- Ensure lubrication as per OEM specifications.
- Maintain fuel levels in the machine.
- Assist maintenance personnel with tasks when required.

EXPERIENCE

- Cut and shape steel using tools such as pliers, wire cutters, and rebar benders.
- Place steel in the correct position and secure it using wire or plastic ties.
