    Trade Accountant - Sandton

    What you'll do:

    • As a Trade Accountant, your role will be pivotal in maintaining a robust control environment with a focus on risk management. You will provide expert analytical support to traders, addressing Gross Margin (GM) concerns. Your responsibilities will include executing month-end trade accounting close per division/business line in compliance with IFRS. You will prepare detailed monthly IFRS P/L and working capital reports. Collaborating with the Middle Office to resolve prior month P/L reconciliation breaks will be part of your duties. You will also support the front and middle office with ad-hoc financial reports and analysis while coordinating external audit, internal audit, and financial governance processes.
    • Maintain a robust control environment, prioritising risk management and attention to detail

    What you bring:

    • The ideal candidate for the Trade Accountant position brings strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting principles. You have proven experience in commodities trading and derivatives along with excellent risk management and control skills. Your highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities set you apart. You have the ability to build effective relationships with traders and stakeholders. A Chartered Accounting qualification – preferably as a Newly Qualified CA(SA) – is required. Experience with forward exchange contracts would be advantageous.

    Regional Procurement Manager

    What you'll do:

    • As a Regional Procurement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the procurement strategy for our client's Infrastructure Business across Africa and the Middle East. Your expertise will be crucial in leading the development of procurement policies, managing contracts, analysing spend, and evaluating supplier performance. You will also be responsible for ensuring a timely supply of goods and materials while demonstrating value for money when dealing with suppliers. Your role will involve maintaining detailed records related to procurement, facilitating timely import/export of materials, managing supplier databases, and working closely with local and regional teams.
    • Lead the development and implementation of procurement policies and system strategies to support tendering, contracts management, spend analytics, and supplier performance management.
    • Ensure the business has a timely supply of goods and materials.
    • Demonstrate value for money when spending with suppliers.
    • Apply procurement processes, ensuring all vital controls, approvals, and reporting are carried out.
    • Drive continuous improvement within the team and departments.
    • Perform activities involved in the Procure-To-Pay process.
    • Maintain detailed records relating to procurement.
    • Facilitate the timely import/export and shipment of materials.
    • Manage the suppliers and clients Database System.
    • Work with local and regional teams to ensure all procurement activities meet business requirements.

    What you bring:

    • The ideal candidate for this Regional Procurement Manager position brings a wealth of experience in procurement processes, policy, and systems. With at least 8 years of experience in procurement roles - including 2-3 years in management or sourcing/supply chain positions - you have developed strong skills that make you an asset to any team. Your proficiency in English (and potentially other languages) will be crucial in this role, as will your understanding of customs clearance and legal concepts. Your knowledge of the Procure-To-Pay process and basic functional expertise in ERP systems will also be highly valued.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering administration, accounting, or a related field.
    • Confirmed knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems.
    • Minimum 8 years procurement experience, with 2-3 years in management or sourcing/supply chain roles.
    • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Proficient in English (knowledge of other languages is advantageous).
    • Knowledge of customs clearance and legal concepts.
    • Good understanding of the Procure-To-Pay process.
    • Basic functional expertise in ERP systems.

    Head of Compliance and Operations

    • As Head of Compliance Operations, you will be instrumental in establishing a new Compliance Operations team. Your role will involve taking ownership of key policies related to information management, conducting reviews, onboarding trading counterparts, developing new business strategies, supporting compliance teams, onboarding senior advisors, and providing training to employees.
    • Play a key role in appropriate management and control of material non-public information (MNPI)
    • Manage Expert Networks by maintaining a list of approved firms, reviewing call requests, and address any issues
    • Monitoring Code of Ethics and other conflicts of interest policies
    • In due course you will take over the regulatory reporting and anti-money laundering functions in Cape Town
    • Create and enforce information barriers, ethical guidelines, allocate funds and resources across platforms
    • Perform relevant reviews of wall crossing requests and ensure that appropriate records are maintained
    • Undertake onboarding of trading counterparties and trading platforms
    • Evaluating employee conflicts of interest in line with policies and procedures
    • Identify and report non-compliance regarding policies on ethics, personal account trading, market conduct, information barriers
    • Support regional and platform Compliance teams with CMP (Compliance Monitoring Programme) testing
    • Updating and managing Governance, Risk and Control system (GRC)
    • Support other reporting including Quarterly flash reports, Monthly flash reports, MLRO reports, Risk Assessment Report, SMCR Report, etc.
    • The ideal candidate for this Head of Compliance and Operations role will bring proven professional experience within financial institutions. You should have prior experience leading compliance monitoring or surveillance teams.
    • BCom Finance / LLB or relevant degree
    • Hold a South African or international accountancy, compliance, risk and financial analysis professional qualification/certificate
    • 8-10 years’ experience in a financial control room, compliance monitoring, surveillance monitoring team in a financial institution
    • Experience in an Investment Bank, Securities Bank, Brokerage, Wholesale Bank or Alternative Asset Manager
    • Prior leadership roles in a similar Head of Operations or Head of Control Room
    • Experience in centralising and integrating various Compliance systems
    • Strong digital skills in particular data skills to extract, consolidate and analyse data from disparate systems
    • Collaborative and inclusive approach to working with colleagues
    • Strong attention to detail
