    Data Analyst : Africa Division

    Purpose of the Job    

    • The purpose of the Data Analyst role is to utilize organizational data assets to uncover actionable insights and trends, facilitating informed decision-making within the business.
    • Operating within cross-functional teams, Data Analysts undertake a range of intricate data analytics projects, including modelling and scenario framing, aimed at addressing analytical challenges. By employing experimental design approaches and validating findings, they present comprehensive reports and metrics in easily understandable terms, fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.

    Job Objectives    

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to comprehend and delineate analysis requirements, hypotheses, and questions, proposing data-driven solutions tailored to business needs.
    • Partner with business, technology, and development teams to determine optimal data sources and analytical techniques for extracting pertinent business insights.
    • Translate complex business requirements into actionable insights through the transformation of data into visual formats and reports.
    • Design, code, test, and document applications in alignment with established business specifications, participating in post-implementation reviews for continuous improvement.

    Qualifications    

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field (essential).

    Experience    

    • 2 years’ experience in a data analysis role or relevant internship experience (preferred).
    • Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, and data analysis tools (preferred).

    Knowledge and Skills    

    • Proficiency in MS Office 365 with Excel skills (essential).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Curiosity and eagerness to learn about data analysis methodologies and techniques.

    Operations Manager (Transport)

    Purpose of the Role

    • To lead and manage the operational delivery team within Transrite, ensuring optimal performance across driver management, shift operations, and logistics execution.
    • This role is responsible for driving service excellence to DC and Freshmark through strategic oversight of daily schedules, vehicle utilisation, and compliance processes.
    • The Operations Manager will play a key role in fostering accountability, resolving operational challenges, and enabling continuous improvement across all touchpoints of the delivery function.

    Job Objectives    

    • Management of Drivers, Shift Managers and Debriefing Personnel
    • Daily performance reports
    • Monitoring daily and weekly registers – Toll cards, attendance, breakdowns, fines, wash bay, pre and post trip inspection sheets.
    • Disciplinary action and grievance handling.
    • Follow up on daily handover book - problems and queries from drivers and stores.
    • Weekly feedback reports from debriefing manager on driver performance – fuel, co-driver and accidents.
    • Weekly feedback reports from Operations Shift Managers – vehicle utilisation, service level to DC and Freshmark, meal allowance schedules and follow up on whether vehicles for service  were booked off.
    • Clocking's and the editing thereof
    • Managing daily delivery schedule/plan to achieve high service levels to both DC and Freshmark.
    • Adhoc Operational tasks that influence the efficiency of the Transrite operation

    Qualifications    

    • Tertiary qualification in Transportation or related fields. (Essential)

    Experience    

    • A successful track record (Minimum of 3 years experience) in Operations at Management level in a similar operation

    Knowledge and Skills    

    • Computer literacy: Good all round computer literacy, in particular a thorough working 
    • knowledge of excel
    • Special skills: Good interpersonal skills at management and staff level.

    Financial Accountant

    Purpose of the Job    

    • To ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger posting; compliance of financial statements with international financial reporting standards, as well as the regulatory requirements on a daily, monthly and annual basis.

    Job Objectives    

    Financial Audit Management

    • Communicate with the group accountant on a regular basis to timely delivery of Group information.
    • Communicate with accountants in the African countries to ensure timely and accurate completion of financial transactions to external auditors.
    • Ensure accountants submit financial statements and tax amendments in a timely manner to ensure tax specialists receive it on time.
    • Communicate external auditor requirements with the divisional managers to promote timely delivery of information.

    Financial Statement Preparation

    • Ensure all countries are compliant with International Financial Reporting
    • Standards (IFRS) where applicable.
    • Audit and check financial statements from Namibia to ensure their accuracy.
    • Ensure timely completion of financial statements by setting appropriate dates in alignment with tax returns.

    Financial Month End Accuracy Procedures

    • Review income statements for allocated African countries on a monthly basis.
    • Review balance sheet reconciliations and file and record for balance sheet purposes.
    • Calculate and post of certain adjustments
    • Ensure statistical fields are completed and check and compare on a monthly basis.
    • Control financial and management ledger closing every second Thursday after the last day of the month.

    Schedules Submission

    • Submit relevant Group (Supermarkets) reporting information to Group Accountant.
    • Perform calculations, analysis and general ledger submissions for group reporting schedules.
    • Balance intercompany accounts on a monthly basis.
    • Ensure correct allocation of expense items and internal and external classification of financial postings for financial management purposes.

    Reporting

    • Prepare monthly Non RSA return on investment report for board of directors.
    • Manage provisions versus actual charges and prepare duties and local charges report.

    Payments

    • Ensure that payments equal documentation.
    • Manage the releasing of payments via online the platform.

    Qualifications
