    Team Leader Processing - Grain Field Chickens Abattoir

    Job Description

    • Responsible for directly leading team of employees and coordinating activities of workers engaged in slaughtering, dressing, and packing poultry.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or NQF 4 Level equivalent.
    • A Production-related Qualification will be advantageous.
    • At least 3 years Team Leader experience in a chicken abattoir.
    • Knowledge of Food Safety Standards required.
    • PME or PMI Certificate required.
    • Good mathematical/ analytical skills.
    • A willingness to work overtime, shifts and weekends when required. 

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Trains new workers in slaughtering, dressing and packing duties.
    • Observe and evaluates performance of workers to ensure conformance to processing/ production requirements and standards.
    • Monitor performance of team members to ensure efficiencies are achieved.
    • Motivate employees to maximise productivity.
    • Take corrective action in the form of counselling and/ or coaching when performance and behaviour is not in accordance with the required targets and code of conduct.
    • Monitor timekeeping and absenteeism.
    • Handle employee problems and queries.
    • Coordinate production start-up, shutdowns and changeovers in line with company policies.
    • Ensure all employees attend inductions and other training programme as per the organisational requirements.
    • Ensure that all SHEQ requirements are adhered to at all times, and take necessary corrective action when needed.
    • Conduct toolbox talks with employees on a daily basis.
    • Monitor appearance of employees and their use of PPE and ensure that the required PPE is worn at all times.
    • Monitor employees using equipment to ensure safety standards are maintained at all times.
    • Take necessary precautions to control and safeguard company assets.
    • Schedule employees on the relevant Health and Safety training to ensure legislative standards are maintained.
    • Ensure housekeeping is completed on an ongoing basis so that the plant is kept clean.
    • Supervise employees to prevent damage or cross-contamination of products in line with the relevant quality policies and procedures. 
    • Resolve or escalate problems of the work performed by employees within own team.
    • Perform work activities in a way that limits cost.
    • Plan, monitor, coordinate and control the quality of a team's work activities in accordance with internal and external client requirements.
    • Apply or initiate corrective and/ or supportive action when required for employees in own team.
    • Monitor and record the time and attendance of employees in own team.
    • Provide on-the-job training & guidance to employees you supervise.
    • Perform any other duties as may be required by line manager.
    • Any other tasks as may be required by management.

    • Loads , lifts and moves articles on pallets within the warehouse.  Will be loading trucks for client dispatch. For the transfer of products from production as well as loading and offloading vehicles.

    Job Description

    • To perform the required administrative activities to internal departments in alignment with predefined work objectives (as per agreed standard operating procedures).

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 Equivalent.
    • An Office Administration Certificate will be an advantage.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in Procurement/ Administration in an Agricultural/ FMCG environment required.
    • Working knowledge of NAV will be a definite advantage.
    • Must be Computer literate (Microsoft Package).
    • A willingness to work overtime, shifts and weekends when required.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Making sure all invoices are delivered to the Finance Department for payment.

    • Quality Control.

    • Confirm growers’ orders before issuing.
    • Verify price on NAV before booking out medication to growers.

    • Medication and Chemicals stock takes.
    • Scan proof of delivery to Share point.
    • Any other duties as may be required by management.

    Electrician - VKB Milling

    Job Description

    • Responsible for performing skilled work in the installation, maintenance, repair, testing and commissioning of electrical and electronic equipment and systems, wiring, fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.
    • May also work on electrical transmission and distribution equipment and perform other related work as required.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent.
    • Wireman’s Licence.
    • A valid Trade Certificate as an Electrician or Millwright.
    • At least 3 years electrical experience in maintenance as a qualified Electrician.
    • Experience in high and low voltage connections.

    • Ensure preventative scheduled maintenance are done as scheduled according to company procedures and standards.
    • Work with management to ensure all machinery and infrastructure function electrically optimal on a continuous basis.
    • Ensure the workshop comply with occupational health and safety requirements.
    • Do fault finding and problem solving on electrical equipment.
    • Reduce breakdowns and downtime periods.
    • Solving of electrical problems from operational manager as specified in the job card.
    • Keep informed on newest electrical technology with regards to better functioning, energy saving and safety.
    • Complete all compulsory training interventions allocated by the direct Manager successfully.
    • Daily housekeeping.
    • Maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.
    • Any other duties as may be required by management.
