Job Description

• The BIM Modeller, performs routine, structured work in a required discipline and demonstrates ability to take on more complex tasks
• An intermediate user in Autodesk Revit Software (Buildings) / Autodesk Civil 3D (Civils), or similar, who can draw/model with limited supervision having the ability to create content within a specific discipline. Must also be an intermediate user in other core discipline specific software.
• Routine/repeated tasks accomplished within assistance
• Receives guidance or direction from others with limited discretion to vary from established procedures
• Contributes by performing routine, structure work assignments in specific job function, expanding complexity of tasks performed
• Follow standard operating procedures/methodologies, using them to solve routine or standard problems.  Identifies problems in existing procedures.
• General proficiency with tools, systems and procedures required for role
• May need continued support on some technical issues
• Applies experiences and skills to complete assigned tasks within area of expertise

Qualifications

•  2-5 Years relevant experience in a modelling function within the built environment
• An intermediate user in Autodesk Revit Software (Buildings) / Autodesk Civil 3D (Civils), or similar, who can draw/model with limited supervision having the ability to create content within a specific discipline
• Must also be an intermediate user in other core discipline specific software

Job Description

• The Candidate Engineer engages in all the Candidate Programme elements and assists the Engineer and the broader team in producing design information while building analytic and design skills in the discipline area. The programme introduces and develops essential business and personal skills, enhancing the transition from student to professional. 

Technical Excellence:

• Develops designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and project BIM models as per specific discipline requirement. Works on drawings under the supervision of an experienced Engineer.
• Assists with the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure high-quality outputs under project timelines.
• Under Supervision, performs work following the agreed-upon budget and schedule.
• When required, collects and analyses information from specific discipline and interdisciplinary project BIM models.
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving fundamental engineering problems.
• Coordinates with other discipline Engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design process.
• Participates in design progress and coordination meetings.
• Checks and ensures the quality of model production by BIM/CAD teams for accuracy to design instructions.
• Actively seeks information, opportunities to participate and contribute, and develops efficiencies and effectiveness.
• Contributes by solving problems and applying experience or theoretical knowledge to atypical assignments

Qualifications

• 2-3 years' experience in a design function, within the built environment after obtainment of qualification
• BEng/BSc degree from an accredited University
• Registered as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA
