    Robotics Technician - TCF

    ROLE SUMMARY

    Ensure Equipment Availability is at 98%. Analyse Top Constraints and solve issues using 6-SIGMA Methodology. Optimizes Facility to ensure volume targets and improve MTBF (Mean-Time-Between-Failures)

    POSITION DETAILS

    • To maintain the facility by completing all scheduled /planned Maintenance – 100% completion
    • To identify all corrective maintenance activities and have a proactive approach – 100% completion
    • Manage/ effective approach to Emergency Maintenance downtime
    • Effective Root Cause Analysis toward downtime
    • Responsible approach to all Safety Standard Regulations
    • Total Maintenance of all TCF (Trim, Chassis, and Final Line) equipment, fault finding of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) controlled circuits, and the modifications thereof.
    • Focus on constraint areas to eliminate the constraint
    • Ensure Production uptime within departmental objectives.
    • Ensure safety compliance at all times
    • PM, CM scrubbing
    • 4D reporting on MFM
    • Assist Artisans with problem-solving and repairs of problematic equipment in their related field
    • Modifications to PLC software circuits, Siemens PLCs are used in the TCF department
    • Assist Project work related to new equipment introduction/ commissioning.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

    • N6 Plus Electrical / Mechanical / Millwright Trade Certificate and or Equivalent (Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial and Mechanical) National diploma
    • 5 yrs. Automotive Manufacturing Experience
    • Programming and Fault-Finding experience in Siemens PLC’s, SEW Drives, and Kawasaki Robots.
    • TIA Pro 1 / Pro 2 Certificates

    Engineering Specialist - Contract

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • This position is for an engineering controls specialist with an emphasis on robotic controls & PLC specialization.
    • The responsible person will be required to develop, implement, monitor and maintain efficient automation controls processes.
    • To specialize in the continuous improvement, troubleshooting and programming of PLC’s/ Robots/Cobot as well as other automation equipment.

    POSITION DETAILS

    • Well versed in ISO 9000 / ISO 14000 / TS 16949.
    • Initiates measures to improve equipment performance, methods and quality.
    • Manage all software and hardware installed on different types of equipment. 
    • Ensure minimal downtimes, proper documentation, software backups and version control.
    • Robot programming, fault finding design changes. 
    • Continuous robotic improvement of weld quality, sealer quality and location accuracy.
    • Reporting / presenting and escalate to management as needed.
    • Responsible for preventive maintenance updates on the robots and related equipment.
    • Optimization of preventive maintenance jobs based on break down analysis and findings.
    • To lead, set up and participate in cross-functional team meetings.
    • The propensity to take the lead in any breakdown situation.
    • Design, fault find and program using PLCs, HMI and SCADA.
    • Ability to read blueprints, AutoCAD, E-Plan, interpret and modify electrical schematics.
    • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
    • Must be prepared to work shifts, and overtime as required.
    • Train and develop training documentation for maintenance personnel.

    • Improve TCF equipment uptime using data analysis and preventative maintenance planning
    • Undertake root cause analysis and to implement Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA’s).
    • Management of TCF constraints with the use of FIS, Scada reporting and monitoring technology.
    • Develop and implement activities to improve MTTR and MTBF.
    • Take responsibility for investigating and introducing new engineering technologies and strategies.
    • Ensure compliance and adherence for Health Charts.
    • Lead a team of Technicians.

    • Kawasaki and Fanuc robot fault finding and programming skill. Sealer systems experience an advantage.
    • SEW, Danfoss, Siemens drives working knowledge. 
    • Proficient in Automation networks including Ethernet, Profinet, Profibus and Wireless Networks. 
    • Fault-finding and continuous improvement execution and implementation.
    • HMI’s – Adroit, Win CC Scada fault finding and programming skill.
    • Excellent PC knowledge
    • Behavioral and Leadership skills.
    • Good presentation skills
    • Excellent English oral and written communication.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret data analysis.

    Frames Welding Engineer

    Responsibilities / Accountabilities

    • Establish and maintain welding process and quality parameters according to customer specifications for MIG (GMAW) and resistance welding operations
    • Create reaction plans to correct in process welds that are out of specification
    • Establish procedures, processes and testing equipment for destructive and non-destructive testing on resistance & MIG welding applications. Including cut & etch (macro etch), Peel and tensile tests with the assistance from the Quality Department
    • Work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering and Prototype Departments to fine-tune designs, material selection, documentation, fixtures, gages, and process control to optimize product manufacturability
    • Work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to develop welding systems and fixtures and participate in FMEA’s
    • Study current welding processes for cost reduction and process improvement
    • Maintain performance on weld cells (touch-up, troubleshooting, improvements)
    • Train and aid in the skills development of the welding and local quality team
    • Assist in qualification of weld cells and processes
    • Leads or participates in Kaizen activities to drive and ensure continuous improvement in processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment 
    • Undertake root because analysis complete with ICA and PCA should defects be experienced.

    Performance Measure/ Success Criteria 

    • Improve Framing Line equipment uptime using monitoring tools and weld verification (destructive/non-destructive testing).
    • Develop and implement short, medium and long-term improvement plans for implementation within the welding process.
    • Undertake root cause analysis and ensure Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA’s) are implemented while ensuring weld quality and integrity.
    • Optimization of weld processes to meet objectives of lowering cost and/or improving productivity.
    • Providing assistance in the welding assembly and maintenance of welding equipment.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) 

    • Experience with designing and programming manual, robotic and automated welding systems.
    • Proficient in ISO GD&T standards
    • GMAW experience on walled tubing (Chassis)
    • Experience with Kawasaki robots / Lincoln welding equipment
    • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
    • Applied knowledge of carbon equivalency formula

    Qualifications and Experiences 

    • National Diploma or degree: Mechanical / Welding Engineering 
    • 3-4 Years Part / Product Assembly Experience.
    • Weld parameter setup.
    • Destructive testing and weld quality verification
