    Executive: IT Infrastructure (Hosting and Network Services)

    Purpose of the job

    • The role will be responsible to define the direction, objectives, strategies, implementation, and operations of technology infrastructures, which includes data centre, network, and server services. The role must ensure IT infrastructure availability, integrity, and security, including the operation of Government- wide networks.

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Provide strategic direction and oversee provisioning of an array of secure and optimized IT hosting services such as application hosting, web hosting, storage, backup and disaster recovery service packages to house, service, and maintain government information.
    • Drives the implementation of cloud computing strategy for SITA to enable effective and efficient government services and a modernized technology platform to improve the machinery of government and optimize service delivery to the citizens and businesses of South Africa to ensure strategic intent, value-added investment that enables government agility.
    • Define the direction, objectives, and strategies for Networks, Software Management, Mobility, and Support services for all systems.
    • Oversee the provision of service packages that provide customers with the capability to effectively monitor, evaluate, and continually improve services received from service providers using international best practice frameworks and quality standards.
    • Continually strive for improved efficiency to ensure that SITA’s service is cost-competitive.
    • Ensure effective management of resources (i.e., budget/finances, assets) within the Unit.
    • Ensure effective Human Capital Management (Leadership).
    • Manage compliance management processes within the department.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Required Qualification: Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent.
    • Experience: 12+ years of professional experience in a technical role in IT Infrastructure (Hosting, Networks, Server Management etc.) in an ICT organization plus 3+ years working experience at an Executive Management level.

    The experience should include:

    • 5+ years in senior technical operations management in one or more of the following:
    • Hosting with experience in Cloud Computing
    • Experience in developing and implementing IT infrastructure operating models.
    • ICT Security
    • Understanding of Applications underlying cloud and hosting capabilities.
    • Experience in managing, monitoring, and reviewing complex operational service delivery and a program of ICT projects and developments.
    • Experience in delivering and managing cloud based SAAS solutions at enterprise scale
    • Experience of leading in an Agile environment with understanding of agile principles and proven track record in their application.
    • Experience in managing, monitorg, and reviewing complex operational service delivery and a programme of ICT projects and developments.
    • Ability to work with key vendor partners shaping the product direction in support of both business and technology needs while ensuring a robust and cost-effective computing environment.

    Lead Consultant: Business Continuity Management

    Purpose of the job

    • To develop business continuity management strategies, plans and tools to assess and implement business continuity and disaster recovery for SITA operations.

    Key Responsibility Areas

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Minimum: 3-year National Higher Diploma / National First Degree in Risk management/Auditing/Information Systems or any relevant qualification equivalent to the NQF Level. Registration with relevant professional body will be advantageous.
    • Certifications: BCI certification would be preferable.
    • Experience: 8-9 years practical experience as an information systems risk management professional. Experience should include: 3 years’ experience at expert level/role within an ICT and/or risk management environment, preferably with BCM responsibility; an in-depth understanding of business continuity management and governance frameworks, strong knowledge of business continuity best practices and protocols.

    Technical Competencies Description

    • Expert knowledge of business continuity management principles, including crisis management, business continuity and disaster recovery. Expert knowledge of corporate regulrisk andironment, corporate governance principles;
    • Expert knowledge of common risk management methodologies — for example, Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology and Committee of Sponsoring Organizations; In- depth knowledge of industry’s standards and regulations; Extensive knowledge of ERM frameworks and working principles; Thorough understanding of the principles and application of good corporate governance, business and operational risk and control processes and procedures; Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping - with dedication to legality, policy, and procedure; Understand business risk, and have the technical knowledge to implement appropriate IS controls;

    Purpose of the job

    End User Computing Technician X3

    Purpose of the job

    • To provide remote and onsite LAN and Desktop technical support to Workstations and Network infrastructure, ensuring that the clients requirements are always met and their expectations exceeded.

    Key Responsibility Areas

Maintenance and support service of the End User Computing Services relating to all LAN Infrastructure Services such as servers, desktops, LAN cabling, switches and other LAN peripherals. Maintenance and support to ensure the availability of the services according to prescribed procedures, policies, standards and SLA’s. Ensure the resolution of hardware and software service requests, incidents and problem within End User Computing and all related LAN infrastructure.

    Network Engineer (Unified Communications)

    Purpose of the job

    • To monitor network status, attend to network incidents and service requests to ensure service restoration, and complete root cause analysis.

    Specialist: End User Computing Field Support

    Purpose of the job

    • To provide LAN and System support on IT Infrastructure, planning and design, including the implementation and maintenance of the network systems (LANs, LAN internetworking, and connections with the LAN environment). The incumbent will be responsible for the specialist identification and resolution of hardware and software problems and malfunctions on the LAN environment.

    Senior Software Developer

    Purpose of the job

    • To lead the design, implementation, debugging, documentation, release and maintenance of software-based solutions, write code and enhance software/systems in accordance with ICT standards and the enterprise architecture for Government.

    Key Responsibility Area
