Role purpose:

• An exciting opportunity exists within an innovative Fintech team who serve the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) industry.
• As part of the Financial Services team guided by our financial inclusive strategy, we are looking for an experienced Portfolio or Product Manager to own our Unsecured Lending Business Term Advance product across the value chain through client insights, product enhancements, stakeholder engagement, and to be accountable for product profitability and overall performance.
• You will also own the Unsecured SME Lending product and marketplace

Key accountabilities

• Own the execution of the Unsecured Business Lending platform marketplace
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning Marketing, Sales, IT, and CX to scale the product so that the year-on-year growth targets are achieved
• Create new products and features to enhance the business value proposition with specific focus on the marketplace and to ensure requisite scale is achieved.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

• Prior Business Lending product design and development experience is essential
• A detailed knowledge understanding of a the fast-paced fintech lending industry is Essential
• Understanding of regulatory requirements essential
• Experience in building, launching and rapidly scaling SME lending platforms and products, ideally in a Fintech environment

Must have Must have technical / professional qualifications:

• Provide insights to the broader team around innovation and developments within the Business Lending and Fintech industry, and setup business cases for evaluation on new ideas.
• Matric essential
• Relevant 3- or 4-year Business degree essential
• Minimum of 8 years' experience within the Product development essential
• Fintech or Business Lending experience preferred

Role purpose:

• Play a crucial part in ensuring the success of our Digital Operating Model; helping us to become a leading digital financial services company.
• Ensure that user requirements for the business are technically understood, documented, developed, tested, and delivered in line with user expectations within an agile environment.
• This role is responsible for creating and estimating business requirements, user and technical stories.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Portfolio Managers in all research, scoping, analysis, and design activities.
• To perform business analysis and design activities by assessing requirements for the Lending team in Financial services in terms of feasibility, impact, and cost, thereby assisting to create and compile accurate user stories, derivation of business rules, customer journeys, and ensure this is well documented.
• Estimate user and technical stories to help inform and prioritize backlog 
• To provide technical input into system definition and design activities and facilitate the delivery of value-added solutions.
• To research / investigate current industry trends and standards in terms of technologies deployed/planned to be deployed and how that can enhance/optimize systems.
• Act as a technical liaison between business and the technical teams and ensure the required support from all areas to ensure the delivery of quality solutions.
• Ensure that projects are delivered according to requirements, and specified designs and that the technical and business teams are aligned around the same objectives and deliverables.
• To ensure that solutions are delivered through the agile delivery processes and to support the technical scrum teams with the delivery of solutions e.g. facilitation of configuration, testing, and rollout coordination.
• To research, define, and maintain industry best practices.
• To maintain, re-evaluate, optimize or automate existing business processes.
• To create reports and feedback for executive and line management.
• Perform quality assurance across business analysis documentation, vendor documentation, proposals, technical designs, test documentation, and operational handover documentation.
• To partake in all of the key agile ceremonies within the team to contribute to the successful delivery.

Ideally you should possess the following:

• Matric/Grade 12 is essential.
• 3 Year Degree / Diploma in Information Technology / Business Analysis.
• 5-8 years of business analysis/systems analysis experience preferably in a highly complex development environment.
• Agile methodology and experience preferred.
• Experience in Financial Services.
• Experience in Supply chain preferred Lending experience preferred.
• Complex business analysis use cases Group facilitation sessions.
