    Associate Test Engineer

    Job Summary: 

    You will be working as Associate Test Engineer and will be the part of Electrification business area for Distribution Solutions division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to the Test Manager and will be responsible for supporting completion of testing activities efficiently and cost-effectively, and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements, test product, system and validate material to ensure that these follow prescribed technical specifications.

    Your responsibilities

    • Supporting test engineers with product and system testing, preparing standard test records and completing test documentation
    • Sharing best practices across different projects and assist other test engineers, ensuring compliance as per IEC standards.
    • Maintaining test reports and certificates that prove compliance with required and applicable standards, market or regulatory requirements in line with customer specifications, legal or ABB internal requirements
    • Collaborating with Design Engineering, Project Management and Distribution Automation Departments

    Your background

    • Diploma Electrical Engineering (Heavy/Power) or equivalent
    • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in testing
    • Good understanding of schematic and single line drawings (electrical symbols, wiring diagram, etc)
    • Good technical and troubleshooting skills on electrical circuits
    • Basic knowledge on instrument transformers (CT/VT testing), and basic knowledge on protection relays
    • Basic knowledge on switchgear and switchgear components
    • Preference will be given to Employment Equity candidates

    Sales Specialist - LV Motors

    Job Summary: 

    You will be working as Sales Specialist, reporting to Sales Manager for Motion business area, IEC LV Motors division based in Modderfontein, South Africa. You will be responsible for building long term customer relationships and managing resolution to specific customer needs and issues.

    Your responsibilities

    • Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of full product / systems / services offering, and aligning to provide a solution
    • Selling products / system to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets for assigned Business Units / Product Groups
    • Performing regular status reviews and proposing recovery plans in cases of potential order shortfalls

    Business Manager - Motion Business

    Job Summary: 

    You will be working as Business Manager and will be part of Motion business area for Service division based in Longmeadow, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Local Division Manager and will be responsible for commercial (sales and marketing) activities and operational accountabilities. Fully responsible for running the day-to-day operations and overachieving customer expectations through lean, faultless operational execution (Care, Customer, Cost, Cash), in an extended value chain at the lowest total cost possible.

    Your responsibilities

    • Creating, implementing, reviewing and taking accountability for relentless execution of a customer-focused operations strategy derived from the overall business and functional strategy developed for the division/ business area/ business line and industry segment strategy, go-to-market model and segment strategy for the assigned business scope
    • Owning the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) pertaining to the operations and commercial performance and is accountable to deliver them in line with ABB expectations, taking accountability to deliver targets for operations- safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity
    • Establishing and maintaining a sustainable and effective value-chain, from supplier to customer and from order to delivery (products, projects, and service), establishing effective S&OP processes for the business organization, accountable for their results
    • Taking care of on-time/on-margin project execution and delivering project EBIT and cash, effectively deploying the respective procurement and logistics strategy and ABB’s quality strategy and ensuring project execution from order to service
    • Taking responsibility for quality assurance, quality control and the implementation of an integrated quality management system, creating, implementing, reviewing and taking accountability for relentless execution of the business commercial strategy and commercial deployment of the organization within the assigned geographical scope
    • Owning the KPIs pertaining to the business organization and is accountable to deliver them in line with ABB expectations, ensuring the integrated commercial success of the organization to drive business growth and market share, enabling the organization to achieve its short, mid and long-term performance and growth objectives within the assigned geographical scope
    • Making sure that all commercial teams are aligned to meet their strategic commercial objectives within the assigned scope, driving appropriate cost structure, productivity optimization and capital efficiency with special focus areas such as profitability, costing/hourly rates, over/under-absorption analysis, demand analysis (customer/account, channels, industry), go-to-market, cost-to-serve, channel profitability and ROI, investment in SG&A resources and sales efficiency
    • Driving application of standardized marketing and sales processes and tools (Salesforce) for the business organization, defining sales objectives for the team and driving the team to achieve the targets, leveraging sales incentive plans in accordance with HR policies and guidelines
    • Developing effective and efficient standards, tools and processes to deliver pricing strategy for the business based on overall strategy, value, competition and cost/profit, delivering cost-to-serve savings and all other commercial performance KPIs, defining and delivering the rolling forecasts for CapEx and OpEx expenses and implementing pricing guidelines and ensures they are effectively applied
    • Interpreting the global industry segment strategy to meet local requirements and implements them with country-specific action plans, optimizing all the commercial costs (PEX of sales forces, call centers, after-sale, commissions of channel partners, and distributors if applicable)
    • Understanding the competition offers, value proposition and strategic moves on the market, ensuring that the major accounts in the business organization are identified and prioritized, acting (if applicable) as the Account Manager for one or more major accounts in the business organization

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Management
    • Minimum 10+ years of experience in sales, marketing and business management.
    • Salesforce & SAP knowledge
    • Background in electrical engineering Industry with a proven track record.
