    Cloud Engineer II

    • This role sits at the point where our cloud platform meets the network it runs on. We are looking for a Cloud Engineer II with a strong networking foundation — someone who understands traditional networking, cloud networking, security and complex infrastructure environments.
    • This is not a general cloud role. We need someone who came up through traditional networking, or has worked deeply with networking alongside cloud engineering. You should be able to reason about how packets move, how systems connect, and how secure, scalable infrastructure operates beyond the cloud console.

    About the team

    • You will join our Cloud Core Engineering team, the specialist group responsible for the foundational cloud infrastructure that the rest of the organisation builds on.
    • The team manages the core AWS platform and networking layer, supporting systems used by millions of clients every day. The role has no direct reports, so the focus is on technical depth, engineering excellence and hands-on contribution.

    What you will do
    Design and deploy cloud solutions

    • You will design and deploy cloud solutions in line with information security and governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, high availability principles, scalability and capacity planning.

    This includes:

    • Creating detailed planning and implementation documentation.
    • Documenting designs, specifications and operational procedures.
    • Preparing handover documentation.
    • Carrying out complex deployments.
    • Liaising with stakeholders to plan and deliver work.
    • Supporting knowledge transfer to operational and support teams.

    Maintain and improve infrastructure

    • You will help ensure our infrastructure remains secure, stable, cost-effective and reliable.

    This includes:

    • Automating deployments and testing.
    • Following standard operating procedures and documentation requirements.
    • Maintaining compliance with internal, industry and regulatory security standards.
    • Managing configuration standards for new deployments.
    • Tracking costs, usage, constraints and risks.
    • Supporting monitoring, alerting and availability.
    • Providing third-level support for critical infrastructure issues.

Act as a cloud engineering subject matter expert

    • You will work closely with internal teams, clients, suppliers and partners, contributing technical expertise and helping teams make strong engineering decisions.

    This includes:

    • Influencing technical decisions.
    • Supporting collaboration across teams.
    • Contributing knowledge on cloud engineering trends and best practices.
    • Helping cloud engineering resources align to business workload.

    Drive innovation and continuous improvement
You will play an active role in improving how we work.

    This includes:

    • Coaching and being coached.
    • Building your technical knowledge in ways that benefit the business.
    • Suggesting process, coding and automation improvements.
    • Contributing to Communities of Practice.
    • Keeping the knowledge base and engineering procedures current.

What you need — networking experience
The networking requirement for this role is essential.

We are looking for real, demonstrable depth in networking, including:

    • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, network architecture and network security.
    • Practical experience with public and hybrid cloud networking.
    • Understanding of how traditional network design principles translate into cloud environments.
    • Hands-on experience with authentication and authorisation protocols such as:
    • LDAP
    • Kerberos
    • Active Directory
    • OAuth 2.0

    • Transit Gateways
    • Direct Connect / DX
    • Hybrid connectivity
    • Network segmentation
    • Network security controls

What you need — cloud and platform experience
You should also bring strong cloud and platform engineering experience, including:

    • A deep understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies.
    • Hands-on experience designing, deploying and managing solutions on AWS.
    • Azure or GCP experience would be advantageous.
    • Cloud-native solution design using APIs, containers, Kubernetes and service mesh.
    • Experience introducing cloud technology into an environment from scratch.
    • Design and troubleshooting experience on AWS.

    Data Solutions Analyst

    About the role

    • Over 23 million people bank with us. The data that powers every decision behind that — from product design to credit risk to client experience — needs to be clean, trusted and built to scale. That's where you come in. The Credit Access Data team is growing. We work at the intersection of granting, pricing and decision science, building the data foundations behind new credit products from the ground up. This isn't a maintenance role. You'll have a direct say in how our data warehouse grows, shape architectural decisions and work with senior stakeholders to turn complex business questions into reliable data that teams across our entire organisation can act on. You'll also lead a Community of Practice, bringing data practitioners together to share knowledge and raise standards across the business. We work openly, we move fast and we trust people who know their craft, if you see data as an outcome, not just an output, this is the role for you.

    What you'll do

    • Define how data is structured, sourced and stored — so that one trusted set of data powers many different teams and tools across our business
    • Work directly with business stakeholders to understand what they need, then turn those needs into clear data requirements and well-documented solutions
    • Write user stories with clear acceptance criteria and coordinate delivery across development and QA teams
    • Lead test plans, validate transformation logic and drive defect resolution — so that what gets built is exactly what was agreed
    • Define and maintain data quality rules, engage governance processes and make sure issues get resolved, not just reported
    • Build relationships across multiple business areas and adapt how you communicate depending on who's in the room

    Knowledge and Experience
    Minimum Experience:

    • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology — Computer Science or Information Technology
    • 5–10 years in business and data analysis, translating requirements into technical specifications
    • At least 5 years working across teams, leading data capability initiatives in large-scale data environments
    • Designs and leads test plans. Validates data transformation logic and reports. Coordinates defect resolution.
    • Understands multiple business functions and data needs.  Adapts language and approach to different stakeholders
    • Collaborates with data developers to define KPI's, metrics and dashboard requirements.  Ensures alignment to business objectives

    Technical skills:

    • Strong SQL — data validation, reconciliation and transformation logic
    • Experience with dimensional modelling, star and snowflake schemas, and fact and dimension tables
    • Ability to read and contribute to logical and conceptual data models, and document metadata with full traceability
    • Working knowledge of data warehouse and Lakehouse concepts — data ingestion, ETL processes, data marts and reporting

    Ways of working:

    • Comfortable writing user stories and coordinating development and QA teams through full delivery cycles
    • Experienced in Agile methodologies and project management
    • Confident communicator who works equally well with technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Strong analytical thinker with commercial awareness and a practical approach to problem-solving

    Knowledge:

    • Banking, telecommunications and financial services
    • Quantifying business value from data
    • Data Architecture including concepts of data warehousing and Lakehouse
    • Data warehousing including concepts of data sources, data ingestion, data marts, ETL (extract, Transform and Load processes), dashboards and reporting, advanced analytics and predicative modelling
