    Accounts Payable Controller

    Purpose of the Job:

    • To provide administrative support to the Accounts Payable section by efficiently coordinating receipting, tracking, and recording of invoices. The person appointed to this position will report to the Senior Manager Finance.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Ensure that invoices are paid within 30 days of receipt;
    • Receive, verify and receipt invoices on 4 Flow;
    • Track progress of invoices on 4 Flow ;
    • Forward creditors statements received from suppliers to finance Bookkeeper
    • Respond to all business calls and e-mails from members of staff and supplier;
    • Adhere to month end deadlines as per finance department month end calendar;
    • Adhere to finance department year end closure procedures;
    • Adhere to any adhoc timeframes, timelines and deadlines as indicated / requested by seniors;
    • Attend to any ad-hoc duties/projects as delegated;

    Lead Litigation Specialist Office of General Counsel

    Purpose of the Job: 

    • To oversee, manage and direct litigation matters in the litigation Unit of the Office of the General Counsel. The person appointed will report to the General Counsel. 

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Manage, oversee and direct  litigation initiated by and against the FSCA, ensuring the provision of effective litigation support. 
    • Manage the process for procuring legal service providers for the FSCA. 
    • Render in-house general counsel services to the FSCA including furnishing of opinions on interpretation of legislation.
    • Provide comments on draft legislation and reports as needed.
    • Participate in FSCA decision-making regarding the enforcement and supervisory mandate to mitigate litigation risks.
    • Provide specialist public law related research, advice and counsel to the FSCA.
    • Assist General Counsel in attending committee meetings and drafting reports when required.
    • Provide strategic guidance  regarding all litigation matters and the transfer of practical litigation skills to all members of the Litigation Unit.

    Requirements

    • An LLB or LLM degree. Admitted attorney or advocate with about 15 years of practical litigation experience.  Knowledge and experience in civil litigation practice, including drafting court papers, legal documents, conducting legal research and providing legal advice. Experience in and knowledge of constitutional and/or administrative law will be an advantage. Experience in the regulation of the financial services industry and understanding of financial sector laws will be an advantage.

    Manager Micro and Access Products Institution Department

    Purpose of the Job: 

    • The department is accountable for supervising the business conduct of micro insurers and other financial services entities operating in the “micro” or “access product” space. The person appointed in the role will be expected to assist with the management of the department, monitor compliance with the provisions of the Financial Sector Regulation Act, 9 of 2017 (FSR Act) and other relevant financial sector laws to ensure a sound and efficient micro institutions industry. The person appointed to this position will report to the Departmental Head of Micro and Access Product Institutions. 

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Manage the operations and deliverables of the department to meet regulatory and supervisory objectives as per agreed Service Level Commitment (SLC); 
    • Co-ordinate and manage planned on-site inspections with other FSCA Departments and ensure proper reporting within the specified time frames;
    • Ensure that urgent/critical matters emanating from on-site inspections are attended to timeously;
    • Ensure that all allegations relating to non-compliance with relevant legislation and unfair treatment of customers by micro institutions are attended to;
    • Ensure that all project-based activities are coordinated and attended to efficiently;
    • Actively participate and contribute to industry and FSCA committees as and when required;
    • Manage the human resource function of the team effectively and efficiently (train and develop, monitor, lead and assess performance of staff);
    • Assist the Departmental Head in developing the supervisory framework for micro-institutions;
    • Assist the Departmental Head by recommending and implementing changes to the regulatory framework and policy within FSCA;
    • Perform any other task as delegated by the Departmental Head.

    The candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: 

    • High level of judgement and have a confident and decisive approach. Good knowledge and/or experience of the functioning of the financial services industry are essential. Problem analysis; information gathering; communication skills; project management skills; ability to interact effectively with senior staff/ industry representatives and stakeholders; ability to work effectively under pressure, attention to detail; accuracy skills; good interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence; good organisational skills; Report writing skills and be able to lead and motivate a team in order to meet individual and team goals. 

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Legal/Commerce/Risk Management or related field, coupled with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, preferably within the financial services industry. A solid understanding of the financial services industry and experience in managing teams will be an added advantage.

    Senior Manager Operational Communication Department

    Purpose of the Job:

    • To ensure the development and execution of the FSCA's internal communication strategy to strengthen employee engagement, leadership visibility, strategic alignment, and change adoption. The role serves as a trusted adviser to senior executives and ensures employees understand the organisation's purpose, strategy, priorities, risks, and performance. The role includes managing internal communication, FSCA website, creative services, language and editing services, internal stakeholder engagement, and the performance reporting of the Communications department. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Communications.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Developing and implementing operational communication plans aligned to the FSCA strategy and keyobjectives.
    • Managing internal communication, regulatory interventions, and sensitive organisational matters.
    • Leading communication on internal change management initiatives of the FSCA.
    • Developing initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and organisational culture.
    • Coordinating internal communication to keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with organisationalpriorities.
    • Managing the creative hub of the Communications department, including graphic design, web content,multimedia outputs, and internal digital campaigns.
    • Overseeing creative outputs, including graphic design, visual identity, reports, campaign material, infographics,and multimedia content.
    • Managing language, editing, translation, tone, and quality control of written communication.
    • Leading and developing the operational communications team, including the creative hub and language unit.

    Senior Manager Strategic Communications

    Purpose of the Job:

    • To develop, lead and implement the FSCA’s strategic communications framework. The role aims to strengthen stakeholder trust, protect and enhance the FSCA’s reputation, and support the Authority’s regulatory objectives through proactive, transparent and consistent communication. The incumbent will also provide strategic communication advice to executives, manage media and reputational matters, oversee external communications, and lead crisis communication responses where required. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Communications.

    • To prepare credit notes, debit notes, invoices and refunds and attach relevant documents for review and approval.
