    Artisan Bricklayer X10 (12 Months Contract)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Submit job cards on a daily basis. Ensure that all check sheets and overtime sheets are filled in correctly before end of shift. Filling in of Vehicle Inspection sheets, Logbooks daily and submit to Foreman or Ops Manager on a weekly basis. Submission of all petrol slips once a month as per Johannesburg Water Vehicle Policy. Enforce safety at workplace according to OHASA, SANS and JW Safety procedures.
    • Risk assessments to be carried before entering Excavations. Use of all additional protective equipment supplied by employer. Assist to identify development of personnel. Maintain viable industrial relations and maintain good acceptable communication patterns that comply with company vision and mission, objectives and core values. 
    • Maintain good relation with public. Construct walls, chambers, steps, pillars, culverts, valve, meter and hydrant boxes. Tiling of floors and walls as directed. Plastering of walls as directed. Excavate foundations as per plan of which includes compaction of subsoil. Mixing of cement and concrete as per specification. Assembling bending schedule as per plan. Building of forms for casting of concrete slabs and chamber decks as per design.
    • Propping and shuttering of chambers and decks as per design. Reinstate road kerbs, guttering, paving and driveways as directed. Cutting in and building of doors and windows on existing buildings. Maintain Depot building in terms of building maintenance practices as directed Completion and repairing of outstanding work left by contractors and/or other user departments. Excavate, shoring and backfilling of job related duties with full regards for the safety of subordinates in terms of OHAS. 

    JOB REQUIREMENTS: ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Grade 10 or N1 (NQF2)+ Bricklaying trade test certificate/ Learnership NQF 4
    • 3 years experience in building/Brick laying, paving (bricks. Concrete). 
    • Basic supervising experience
    • Valid code 10 Driver’s licence with PrDP

    Artisan Fitter X10 (12 Months Contract)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Carry out repairs and maintenance to Mechanical plant and equipment, which include but not limited to Pumps, Level controls, PRV`S (Pressure reducing valves), Valves and auxiliaries. Execute planned maintenance according to Johannesburg Water Maintenance schedules and SOPS. Carry out standby duties and emergency work of which must include feedback to the Telemetry control room on callouts.
    • Carry out monthly toolbox checks to comply with safety norms and standards. Inform Operations Manager on any irregular maintenance issues regarding Plant, Equipment and Facilities.
    • Assist with the effective and productive planning of jobs in the section as directed by the Supervisor. Assist with the investigation of pump station and reservoir operating methods in order to enhance the systems performance.

    • 3 years’ experience on pumps, valves, hydraulic level controls, PRV’S.

    • Valid code EB Driver’s licence

    Artisan Welder X10(12 Months Contract)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure that all work orders, check sheets and overtime sheets are filled in correctly and submitted before end of shift. Completing Vehicle Inspection sheets, Logbooks daily and submit to the Foreman on a weekly basis. Submission of all petrol slips once a month as per the Johannesburg Water Vehicle Policy. Minimal supervision from the Workshop Foreman.
    • Supervise subordinates to achieve sections goals and objectives. Feedback daily to Foreman of every job completed and progress of planned jobs within allocated time frames. Ensure and promote workplace safety in terms of OHASA and J.W. codes of practice.
    • Check welding equipment daily and report any defects to Workshop Foreman. Asses excavations, confined spaces before entering, in terms of HT cables, gas lines and other potential hazards and risks . 
    • Manufacture repair and install specials for regions and other user departments. Execute repairs on water and sewer reticulation in all regions as requested. Manufacture and install which include bur not limited to Y- pieces , T- pieces , collars , spool pieces , manhole covers , step ladders, burst pipe clamps , cover plates , locking devices , panel  boards , lighting brackets , sewer baskets , guide rail brackets , pipe fabrication and repairs from 100mm to 1,5 m diameter. Assist contractors on network sites as directed by Foreman.
    • Taking over of contractors jobs as directed by Mechanical Manager. Modification on plant and equipment which include but not limited to fuel tanks , body parts , trailer chassis , battery brackets , jockey wheels , water tanks. Rigging and lifting of large and heavy pipes and pipe  sections and water reticulation components.
    • Repair and install of pipe work on network sites. Inspect and direct excavations in order to execute repairs as needed on sites. Decide and advice on best practices when on site. Carry out standby duties overtime and emergency work as per collective agreement. Respond in shortest possible time frame on call outs, breakdowns on plant, equipment, water and sewer reticulation.
    •  Assist with pre-planning of materials, resources, plant and equipment provided for scheduled operations in workshops , regions and other user departments. Assist with the effective and productive planning of the section. Tool and toolbox checks to be done monthly.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS: ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Grade 10 or N1 (NQF 2) + Welder trade test certificate /Appropriate Learnership NQF 4
    • 3 years of relevant experience in welding operations focusing mainly on large diameter pipelines. Gas and Arc welding experience is compulsory. 
    • Basic supervisory experience.
    • Valid code 10 Driver’s licence with PrDP

    Contract Specialist

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepare and manage contract file schedule. Manage contract flow of contract award documentation. Load contract document and all other applicable governance documents against the system contract. Run daily and monthly SAP contract reports to monitor contracts end dates and advice user department accordingly. Maintain authenticity of information on framework contracts-price adjustments, amendments etc.
    • Maintain system contracts as per agreement. Ensure the Service Level agreements for critical contracts are created by end users and contain KPIs for contract management. Conclude system contract close-out process for all contracts that are terminated.
    • Ensure that contract loaded on the system are compliant to the JW Supply Chain policy and government legislation. Risk management system for contract system risks. Monitor system target value overruns and inform timeously. Provide an information service to tenders and departments regarding contracts. Compile and issue Contract circulars.
    • Monitor the linking of Purchase Instructions to appropriate system contract. Expiry of contracts- 3 month and 6-month reminders to users. Ensure that only valid approved contracts are loaded on the system. Monitor and track contracts awarded to ensure compliance to policy and procedures.
    • Interpret provisions of Supply Chain Policy and the Acts to end users with regard to contract admin. Submit weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the Senior Manager Acquisition on the activities and performance of contract section.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS: ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Diploma in Procurement/Purchasing/Logistics/Finance or Supply Chain Management (NQF Level 6). 
    • 3 years’ experience in Procurement and Supply Chain of which 2 must be in government procurement. 
    • Conversant with SCM legislation
    • SAP Material Master experience
    • Microsoft Office experience in Excel and Word 11
