    Manager: Alumni and Stakeholder Relations

    Main Objectives

    • The key role of the Manager, Alumni and Stakeholder Relations, is to manage and strengthen mutually beneficial relationships between the University and its alumni, both locally and internationally, as well as with other strategic stakeholders, in support of the University’s Communication and Advancement strategy.
    • The incumbent is responsible for driving sustainable alum engagement programmes and developing integrated stakeholder engagement strategies informed by ongoing research and insights into alum needs, interests, and institutional priorities.
    • The role focuses on building, nurturing, and sustaining meaningful relationships across diverse alumni and stakeholder groupings, while creating opportunities and platforms for alumni to connect and reconnect with one another and with their alma mater.
    • Working closely with the Fundraising function, and Communications and Media Relations, the role also contributes to cultivating a culture of giving among alumni and strengthening alum participation in advancing the University’s strategic objectives.
    • In addition, the position seeks to foster connections between alums, prospective students, and current students, creating visible role models and strengthening lifelong engagement with the University.

    The Requirements

    • A relevant B Degree (NQF level 7) plus approximately 7 years’ relevant experience, where such experience includes: -
    • Previous experience in alums and stakeholder relationship management, and/or be able to demonstrate a track record of success in relationship-building skills, familiarity with working to mobilise constituent groups.
    • Demonstrable success in running projects which are aimed at achieving support for philanthropic programmes.
    • Previous experience in a position where work plans may extend over several years and where a high degree of persuasiveness is seen as key to success.
    • At least 3 years’ management experience.
    • Excellent communication (written), presentation, networking and negotiation skills working with diverse stakeholders.
    • Demonstrable creative and conceptual ability with a focus on continuous innovation

    Re-Advertising _ Programme Manager (Makhanda Circle of Unity) 3-Year Contract

    Main Objectives

    • The MAKHANDA CIRCLE OF UNITY (MCoU), established in 2019, is a collaborative forum established for the fulfilment of an inclusive and purposeful approach for the socio-economic development of Makhanda and its surrounds, which aims to bring together all relevant and interested voices, communities and stakeholders in a spirit of problem solving, partnership and civic participation. 
    • The Programme Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership, coordination, and operational management of the Makhanda Circle of Unity (MCoU), an established multi-stakeholder civil society collaboration platform dedicated to the inclusive socio-economic development of Makhanda and its surrounds.
    • Building on the foundations laid since the formalisation of the MCoU as a registered non-profit organisation in 2021, and the successful activation of its cluster-based collaboration model, the Programme Manager will consolidate and expand the MCoU’s programmes, partnerships, and impact. The role serves as the central integrator and convenor across stakeholder clusters, enabling distributed leadership, strengthening cross-sector collaboration, and translating collective priorities into coordinated, high-impact projects and initiatives.
    • The Programme Manager will drive programme implementation across priority thematic clusters (including education, food security, local economic development, and community engagement), support collaborative problem-solving and advocacy, and deepen strategic partnerships with civil society organisations, educational institutions, business forums, donors, and relevant public sector stakeholders.
    • A core objective of the role is to strengthen organisational sustainability through resource mobilisation, partnership development, improved operational systems, and enhanced stakeholder communication and visibility.
    • The Programme Manager will also support governance processes, reporting, and accountability to the Steering Committee and funders, ensuring that the MCoU remains a trusted, neutral, and effective platform for civic partnership and community impact.

    The Requirements

    At least a relevant Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Law or Social Sciences (NQF level 7), with at least 4 years relevant experience, where such experience includes: - 

    • Previous experience working with NGOs, government, and the private sector
    • A strong track record of managing complex projects
    • Track record of successful people management
    • A track record of successful fundraising, financial management and visibility impact
    • Track record of initiating and successfully managing change

    Junior Applications Developer

    Main Objectives

    • To customise software solutions required for the administration of the University, and to support users in the operation of such software and programs. The position also requires querying and analysis of the underlying data to provide answers to ad hoc queries generated by users of software.
    • Sometimes this work may involve working with databases and data sources other than the centralised administrative system but will usually be limited to data and databases that are critical to the University administration systems.

    The Requirements

    • A 3 year NQF Level 7 qualification with approximately 1 year programming  experience
    • Programming experience is evidence of experience in a programming environment developing software front ends using C# or web technologies
