    General Assistant x3 Paarl

    Responsibilities (NOT limited to the below):

    • Maintain safe working procedures at all times
    • Ensure that tasks are carried out as instructed by your managers
    • Assist operators if and when required
    • Adhere to standard operating procedures

    Operator - Copperworks

    Responsibilities (NOT limited to the below):

    • Compliance with approved SOP’s
    • General operation of the Furnace
    • Oversee the feeding as well as housekeeping of the furnace
    • Constant monitoring of furnace parameters

    • Assistance and support to service teams during times of maintenance and process interrupts

    Fitters Team Leader

    Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Lead the team’s productivity and efficiency on all jobs.
    • Conducting mechanical inspections on all production machinery when required
    • Promote Compliance and adherence to the Company in-house maintenance program and procedures
    • Responsible for conducting routine planned and preventative maintenance
    • Hydraulic systems (leaks repairs, Filter change outs)
    • Conveyor belts, drives, pulleys and replacement of rollers
    • Lubrication tasks
    • V-belts replacements
    • Lead, assist and guide the teams with any support required during breakdowns and critical maintenance on all Production machinery and equipment
    • Monitor quality and efficiency of teams work programs and report any issues or possible improvements
    • Assist with Mentoring of all Technical Assistants and apprentices.
    • Monitor adherence to all Health & Safety requirements and Company policy and procedures, report all instances of non-conformance.
    • Any other tasks, as agreed with Management, suited to this level of leadership

    Qualifying Criteria:

    • Qualified Fitter Artisan (Red Seal certification)
    • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Qualified Fitter in a heavy industry environment
    • Must be physical fit and able to work at heights
    • Must be able to work in confined spaces
    • Strong Hydraulic background will be an advantage
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Extensive knowledge of power tools
    • Knowledge and adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Rules and regulations
    • Ability to work under challenging conditions
    • Excellent communication skills (understand, read and write in English)

    Mechanical Fitter Supervisor

    Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Responsible for supporting the Manager to drive routine planned and preventative maintenance procedures and protocols
    • Using computerized maintenance management system to plan, track and record daily tasks as well as raising new work requests
    • Ability to provide technical and hands-on support to team during critical breakdowns as and when required on all Production machinery
    • Monitor quality and efficiency of teams work programs and report any issues or possible improvements
    • Support Management in ensuring compliance of timekeeping, productive output, quality output and discipline within the Fitters department
    • Conducting regular quality control checks of inspections undertaken by fitters personnel across all production machinery
    • Liaise and coordinate with internal departments on machine availability and progress of jobs
    • Managing the servicing of any mechanical components
    • Assist the Manager with liaising with suitable Contractors, suppliers and sourcing quality parts and spares
    • Assist the Manager with ensuring compliance to legal requirements, Health & Safety rules, and Company policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that a high quality of work and safety standards are maintained at all times
    • Promote Compliance and adherence to the Company in-house maintenance program and procedures including managing manpower utilization
    • Support the Teams by offering Technical training and on the job guidance and mentoring
    • Any other tasks, as agreed with Management, suited to this level of leadership

    Qualifying Criteria:

    Qualifying Experience:

    • Knowledge and experience of logistics and transport is advantageous
    • Experience and knowledge of waste management is advantageous

    Burner

    Job Description:

    • The Burner’s primary purpose is to provide support within the Production division as dictated by operational requirements in the form of cutting a variety of steel products using a cutting torch.

    The following tasks will include, but are not limited to:

    • Cut variety of steel for re-melting purposes
    • Maintenance and checking of cutting tools
    • Ensuring that equipment is in good, safe and working order
    • Follow correct procedure before cutting hazardous material identified
    • Maintain safe working procedures at all times.
    • Abide by the regulations as set out in the O.H.S.A. and company policies.

    Qualifying Attributes/ Requirements:

    • 2-3 years Relevant experience as a burner is advantageous.
    • Excellent knowledge of Ferrous and non- ferrous metals
    • Good knowledge of which applicable cutting safety procedure and safety equipment to be used
    • Must be able to work alone and in a team
    • Must be willing and eager to learn
    • Must be honest & reliable
