    Retail Online Fulfillment Specialist

    About the Role

    • A leading South African retailer is consolidating its ecommerce platforms into a single, unified customer experience – bringing together food, clothing, beauty, and home products into one cart, one checkout, and one delivery. Right now, these operate as separate systems with separate fulfilment logic. The goal is to make them invisible to the customer.
    • This role sits at the centre of that integration. The Online Fulfilment Specialist connects the dots between the ecommerce platform, internal business operations, change management, warehouse management, and last-mile delivery – ensuring that what gets ordered online gets fulfilled seamlessly, regardless of which category it came from.
    • Due to the high volume of applications expected, candidates who have not received feedback within two weeks of applying should consider their application unsuccessful.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Act as the operational bridge between the ecommerce platform and fulfilment execution – food, fashion, beauty, and home
    • Support the consolidation of separate fulfilment streams into a single, unified delivery model
    • Work across internal teams including ecommerce, warehouse management, logistics, and business operations to align processes and resolve fulfilment gaps
    • Identify and resolve conflicts between platform logic, warehouse capability, and delivery execution
    • Support change management activities as teams transition from siloed systems to a centralised fulfilment model
    • Document current-state and future-state fulfilment processes across all product categories
    • Monitor fulfilment performance, flag issues early, and drive continuous improvement
    • Liaise with delivery and warehouse partners to ensure operational readiness at each phase of consolidation

    Requirements

    • Experience in ecommerce operations, online fulfilment, or last-mile delivery in a retail environment
    • Understanding of how ecommerce platforms, warehouse management systems, and delivery operations interact
    • Comfortable working across multiple internal stakeholders – technology, operations, logistics, and change
    • Strong process mapping and documentation skills
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify operational gaps and recommend practical solutions
    • Experience working in or across multi-category retail (food and general merchandise) is advantageous
    • Exposure to platform consolidation or systems integration projects advantageous

    Retail Operations Project Manager (non-IT)

    About the Role

    • A leading South African retailer is consolidating its food and general merchandise (fashion, beauty, home) ecommerce platforms into a single, unified customer experience – one cart, one checkout, one delivery. This Project Manager role exists to drive that consolidation from a business and operations perspective.
    • This is explicitly not an IT project management role. The technology is an enabler – the real work is aligning business operations, commercial teams, fulfilment logistics, and warehouse management around a new way of working.
    • Due to the high volume of applications expected, candidates who have not received feedback within two weeks of applying should consider their application unsuccessful.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Own end-to-end project management of the online fulfilment consolidation programme from a business and operations lens
    • Coordinate across ecommerce operations, commercial teams, warehouse management, last-mile delivery, and store operations to drive alignment and delivery
    • Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, and delivery timelines across multiple business workstreams
    • Manage risks, issues, and dependencies – escalating early and resolving at the right level
    • Facilitate cross-functional working sessions and drive decisions where workstreams intersect
    • Track operational readiness across all fulfilment touchpoints as consolidation progresses
    • Manage stakeholder communication across business units, ensuring consistent understanding of progress, priorities, and change impacts
    • Partner with the Online Fulfilment Specialist and Change Manager to ensure operational and people readiness ahead of each delivery phase

    Requirements

    • Proven project management experience in a retail operations or ecommerce environment
    • Strong understanding of retail fulfilment, logistics, or last-mile delivery operations
    • Demonstrably business and operations-focused – not an IT or systems PM
    • Ability to manage complexity across multiple business functions simultaneously
    • Strong stakeholder management across operational and commercial teams
    • Comfortable with ambiguity in a programme still being defined and shaped
    • Formal PM methodology experience (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent) advantageous
