Job Description

• The Trainee Accountant vacancies are for 2026 first year trainees wanting to start their training contract within the SNG Grant Thornton Assurance division. The training contract will ensure that you achieve the SAICA competencies to register as a Chartered Accountant and equip you with generalist expertise and experience in a broad range of commercial sectors. 

We are looking for candidates who would like:

• Exposure to a broad range of client sectors;
• Hands on experience with clients and management;
• Open door policy with managers and partners;
• To learn about a broad range of businesses  from listed entities to entrepreneurial start ups;
• Mentorship and guidance 

Requirements 

• Honours / PGDA / CTA or equivalent level qualification at a SAICA recognised University.

JOB PURPOSE

• Creating graphics, animations, and special effects, as well as editing photos, audio, and video using Adobe Creative Suite
• Developing and producing multimedia pieces for use on websites, in multimedia presentations, and for interactive displays and exhibits
• Designing of artwork for web and social media use
• Designing of internal and external email Communication
• Design of Promotional, Conference and Event Material – Newsletters, Banners, programmes, emailers, Invitations, etc
• Design of Tender proposals, reports, memorandums and quotations
• Design of Corporate Stationery
• Design of Printed and digital collateral
• Taking of professional and event photos

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Graphic /multimedia designer with string portfolio of work including an online presence in the form of a show reel CV.
• Web skills such as HTML, CSS, media savvy and programming skills are a plus.
• Be able to storyboard ideas and concepts prior commencing a project
• Have accuracy and attention to detail
• Be a team player because most projects require input from individuals with different roles
• Be able create concepts, from start to finish, with minimal or no supervision
• Collaborate with marketing team to determine appropriate visual, textual and animated elements of projects
• Have skill in preparing artwork and media for final approval and distribution
• Thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
• Be able to collaborate with other designers and brainstorm creative concepts
• Keep in constant communication with internal clients
• Have excellent visual communication skills to present ideas and information in a multimedia context
• Have exceptional creative flair and an innovative approach to all design projects
• Organisational, time and project management skills
• Have an understanding of the latest trends and their role in a commercial environment
• Have proven competence in design and image manipulation software
• Be able to self-develop to keep-up-to-date with fast-changing trends Professional approach to time, costs and deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Formal Design Degree/Diploma

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 5 years-experience
• Formal design degree or diploma
• Advanced use of the following tools:
• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe InDesign
• Adobe Illustrator
• Adobe Premiere
• Adobe After Effects.
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft PowerPoint

Job Description

• Asist in the implementation of the monitoring plan
• Perform firm level reviews
• Communicate with directors and process owners
• Identify deficiencies in the firm’s system of quality management, evaluating such deficiencies and communicating identified deficiencies to relevant personnel
• Write review reports to be presented to directors and the Quality Risk Management Committee (QRMC)
• Present reports and answer any questions at QRMC
• Assist with the development and facilitating of training on deficiencies
• Perform ad-hoc reviews / investigations requested from exco / QRMC
• Build strong relationships with internal clients and QRMC members.
• Execute risk-related initiatives and ensure local alignment of global risk and quality policies.
• Assist with back office functions on the firm’s engagement management system.
• Assist with the opening, archiving and recording of engagement and project management files
• Monthly reporting on archiving and usage to MANCO.

Experience/ Skills

• 2years + years in risk management, audit, or risk consulting within professional services.
• Detail oriented - methodical, and quality-focused
• Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written, with strong presentation abilities
• Analytical mindset - proficient in data analysis, trend monitoring, and reporting.
• Organised and capable of managing deadlines and multiple reviews
• Client service mindset and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Leadership capabilities - mentorship, training facilitation, and team guidance.
• Knowledgeable about regulatory requirements, compliance, and audit standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.
• Advanced certifications (e.g., CIMA) are strongly preferred.
