    Campus - Deputy Head of Operations

    Your talent and positive mental attitude mean you are able to deliver on the following responsibilities:

    • Provide professional leadership in support of the Head of Operations
    • Support the Head of Operations in managing departmental duties on a day to day basis
    • Actively address requirements and challenges, monitor progress and provide feedback on Operational interventions 
    • Develop project implementation plans and allocate project resources in line with project objectives, deliverables and milestones  
    • Oversee, direct and lead the daily operations of the campus with regards to Repairs and Maintenance, Grounds and Gardens Maintenance, Furniture and Events, AV & Sound, Operations Administration, Off Campus Facilities Management (Roodeplaat, Welgevonden and Kamoka)
    • Serve on College committee structures as required by the department
    • Drive strategic partnerships and operational excellence through proactive stakeholder engagement

    The requirements of the position:

    • A Diploma in the Built Environment, Operations Management or Property Development or equivalent,
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position,
    • Project management experience, especially in the built environment,
    • Excellent organisational, administration, and communication skills,
    • Sound knowledge of the OHS Act, Building Regulations and ability to implement Risk Mitigation Controls,
    • Good computer skills (Excel, Word, E-Mail, MS Project),
    • Customer service with proven assertiveness and problem-solving skills,
    • Highly self-motivated, uses initiative, ability to make decisions and has excellent people skills,
    • An active understanding and interest in the educational environment will be an advantage,
    • Able to work flexible hours, sometimes after hours, on weekends or public holidays,
    • Proof of sexual offenders and criminal clearance certificate,
    • An ability to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College and a willingness to participate in the broader life of the College

    Campus - Receptionist/Front Office

    Your talent and positive mental attitude mean you are able to deliver on the following responsibilities:

    • Efficient operation of the frontline reception for the Semono Building and provide professional, prompt, courteous and knowledgeable service
    • Taking of messages and dealing with general queries from parents, students, staff and service providers
    • Administrative duties including, receiving/sending of emails; sorting and distribution of internal mail, accepting deliveries, organising meetings, and any other ad hoc requests which impact on the effective functioning of the Operations Department
    • Maintain and Administer the Electronic Facilities Booking System
    • Coordinate bus bookings for staff/students
    • Maintain and Administer the access control database with Security
    • Capturing of purchase orders and invoices on the procurement system
    • On boarding of Operations Department vendors

    The requirements of the position:

    • National Certificate in basic Office Management and Administration or equivalent,
    • 3-5 years’ experience in reception and office administration, preferably within a customer service environment,
    • Solid computer literacy with a sound knowledge of Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel specifically,
    • Strong communication and inter-personal skills along with excellent telephone etiquette,
    • Interacting with parents, staff and the broader Saints community intelligently and respectfully, ensuring high levels of diplomacy and tact,  
    • Customer service orientation with the ability to prioritise, multitask and work under pressure,
    • Initiative and problem-solving abilities, and must be able to work without supervision,
    • Punctuality, honesty and reliability are essential,
    • Any staff member working within a school is required to have a sexual offender’s and criminal clearance certificate,
    • A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College as well as participation in the broader life of the school.5

    Saturday School Teachers

    The requirements for this position are:

    • Relevant teaching qualification from a recognised institution.
    • A post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in teaching, assessment, moderation, monitoring, and evaluation.
    • Experience in developing learning and teaching material and assessment practices according to CAPS requirements and the needs of the students.
    • Ability to teach in multi-level classrooms.
    • An excellent all-round knowledge and passion for the subject.
    • An ability to be flexible with a willingness to embrace rapid changes in education and an interest and ability to integrate IT into your teaching and learning and to progress the development of, and delivery of, online learning and assessment.
    • An unequivocal commitment to working as part of an accomplished team and an ability to take initiative and to act decisively.
    • Ability to inspire and encourage students to seek and maintain high standards of performance.
    • A sound and progressive understanding of the South African education context, South African curriculum and international trends in education.
    • A commitment to on-going personal and professional development.
    • A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College as well as to participate in the broader life of the college.
    • Proof of registration with SACE supported by a sexual offender’s clearance certificate.
