    Chief Programme Officer(Fixed Term based on funding )

    Purpose of the position:

    • The CPO is a member of the Board and will provide leadership, operational, and technical support to multiple programmes. The CPO will be responsible for managing relationships and engagement with multiple stakeholders

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Degree as Medical Doctor
    • Registered with HPSCA
    • Diploma / Master’s in Public Health
    • Diploma in HIV Management / TB
    • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in implementing and managing public health programmes
    • Experience in budgets
    • Monitoring, evaluation and reporting
    • Valid driver’s licence and be willing to travel
    • Clear criminal record

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Provide leadership, vision and develop policies to achieve the programme’s goals
    • Ensure adherence to the culture and values of the organisation
    • Execute the fiduciary responsibilities in accordance with ethical standards, statutory requirements and sound corporate governance practices
    • Advocate on behalf of the programme at various levels including policy makers and healthcare providers
    • Advocate to review and improve gender-sensitive and transformative policies, plans and programmes
    • Ensure the implementation of a national TB education campaign as provided by the National Strategic Plan (NSP)
    • Develop research protocols for Global Fund projects and ensure the delivery of projects and associated reports, papers and research outcomes
    • Promote THC as the leading policy maker in the country
    • Supervise, manage and provide technical support to Programme Directors
    • Develop strategic plans in pursuance of the programme’s vision and mission
    • Manage risk through the development of contingency plans
    • Ensure the provision of on-going sources of financial support by securing grant funding
    • Direct the development of work plans aligned to operational budgets
    • Ensure compliance with funder and statutory rules and regulations
    • Ensure financial viability through sound cash flow management and oversight of budgets and expenditure
    • Ensure the review of the programmes’ performance to mitigate risk and to ensure continuous improvement and management of the grant
    • Take responsibility for the monitoring and evaluation function of the programmes
    • Ensure that periodic evaluations and assessments are conducted to inform programme decision making and to produce quality reports
    • Direct the M & E unit on the collection of data, development of tracking systems and reports and the dissemination thereof to relevant stakeholders for improved service delivery, collaboration and knowledge sharing
    • Direct the QI unit on the development of QI technical support initiatives
    • Drive the implementation of QI projects for the identification of gaps and improvement of service delivery
    • Ensure the validation and compliance of quality processes by documented assessments and feedback systems
    • Direct the collection of strategic information and ensure the systematic analysis thereof to effectively monitor key indicators and inform decision making
    • Build and maintain professional relationships with key influencers, funders, technical experts, government departments, healthcare providers and other organisations
    • Drive the development of community engagement forums and work plans
    • Participate in Technical Advisory Group meetings

    Social Worker_PWID

    Purpose of the position:

    • The Social Worker plays a central role in providing psychosocial support, case management, and community outreach to key populations, specifically People Who Inject Drugs individuals. The position ensures that KP communities receive stigma-free, rights-based, gender-sensitive health and social services, while also contributing to advocacy and empowerment initiatives.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Education

    • Degree in social work
    • Proof of registration with the South African Council for Social Services Platform as a Social Worker

    Experience:

    • At least 3 years’ experience working in the public health sector as a Social Worker.
    • Experience in administration and management.
    • Experience working with Key Populations in the HIV/TB Sector

    Job requirements:

    • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • SA Citizen or valid work permit to work in South Africa
    • Minimal/Moderate overnight travel (up to 30%) by land or air if required.
    • Willing to work overtime.

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    The role of the social worker is to provide social support services to clients.
    This includes:

    • Advanced adherence counselling
    • Trauma and IPV counselling and referral
    • Mental health assessment and referral
    • Substance use assessment and referral
    • Review all human rights violations cases reported by peer educators, human rights ambassadors and advocacy officers, and assess case merits
    • Engage with clients who experienced/reported human rights violations and work towards resolutions of these cases
    • Assessing human rights violations and escalating relevant cases to paralegals for further action
    • Supporting paralegals and attorneys with additional information on cases as needed
    • Assess the clients’ needs, situations, strengths, and support networks to determine goals and appropriate interventions.
    • Refer clients to appropriate treatment centres, as indicated.
    • Monitor referrals to ensure that clients access services or support that they have been referred to.
    • Make recommendations on the best course of action for a client and/or family.
    • Organise/ Plan the appropriate package of support to alleviate distress and promote social wellbeing for clients.
    • Ensuring that all client files, and other records, comply with policies, regulations, and procedures.
    • Provide progress reports and participate in internal and external meetings.
    • Submit monthly activity reports as per workplan to the district level SR supervisor
    • Maintain and update databases or registers used.
    • Perform all administrative functions required of the job.
    • Facilitating appropriate referrals.
    • Ensure reaching outcomes of Human Rights Violations.

    NIMART Professional Nurse_AYP

    Purpose of the position:

    • Implementation and recording of Adolescent and Young People’s Program (AYP) to ensure full integration of HIV care and treatment cascades including Women’s Health, SRH, HTS, STI, TB Screening and facilitating successful referrals as needed to ensure holistic care.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Diploma/Degree in Nursing (General, Community, Midwifery and Psychiatry)
    • SRH (Sexual Reproductive Health) and NIMART certificate
    • Dispensing certificate and licence
    • Minimum of 2 years community nursing experience working with AGYW/AYP and/or KP
    • Excellent knowledge of HIV, TB, SRH and STI, prevention approaches and NDOH screening guidelines
    • An understanding of the challenges facing Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) and Young Women who are Key Populations (YWKP) in the health context
    • An in-depth understanding and knowledge of legislative requirements, acceptable practices and procedures
    • Ability to work non-traditional/flexible hours.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Responsible for the comprehensive, integrated cascade of care
    • Consult and provide preventative and curative treatment/health care
    • Analysing symptoms and conducting specific examinations and/or conducting tests and physical assessments.
    • Making a Nursing diagnosis according to Policy, Protocol and Guidelines
    • Prescribing/administering the necessary medication/drugs in required dosages in line with Policy guidelines
    • Implementing and integrating policy and programmes relating to PHC – Women’s Health, SRH, HTS, STI, TB Screening
    • Documenting referrals and linkage to care to ensure continuity of care
    • Consulting, referring and linkage to care of all HIV positive clients with opportunistic infections according to policy, protocol and guidelines
    • Index testing of AGYW/YWKP partners
    • Attending and referring all trauma, Gender Based Violence (GBV), Post Violence Care (PVC) and PEP clients to the Thuthuzela Centres or nearest health facilities, and medical emergencies according to Protocol, Policies and Guidelines
    • Inform the social worker and Human Rights team on all the GBV, PVC cases
    • Previously lost to follow up HIV positive clients to be linked to care in line with the NDoH strategy to find the missing 1.1 million PLWHIV
    • Attending to referrals and linkage to care clients from Health and Wellness Counsellors (HWC) and Linkage Officers (LO)
    • Maintaining accurate reports and records of procedures performed
    • Keeping accurate, up-to-date records of medical supplies, equipment and drugs in own area of operation.
    • Responsible for asset management and monitoring effective use of health equipment
    • Managing Drug supply and HIV RDTs in line with GPP (Good Pharmacy Practice)
    • Responsible for quality assurance of HTS, compliance to clinical and dispensing standards and reporting as required
    • Oversight and supervision of HWC during Quality Assurance activities such as Independent Quality Control (IQC) and Proficiency Testing Survey (PT)
    • Data entry, collection & capacity to use data collection tools
    • Data analysis, addressing gaps & use of data
