Primary Role Accountabilities

• Maintain customer MPLS and Cisco SDWAN networks.
• Find and present operational, technological and cost efficiencies on customer and internal networks.
• Undertake data network fault investigations and implement resolutions in local and wide area environments.
• Ensure proper configuration and deployment of ISP or customer networking equipment while adhering to eNetworks and customer standards and practices.
• Liaise with Project Management team, Network engineers and Service Desk Agents on a regular basis.
• Operationally handle escalated support requests. 

Critical Requirements - Skills,  Experience & Qualifications

• Matric Qualification
• Valid Drivers Licence
• Thorough understanding of switching, routing and their related technologies. BGP, OSPF champion. TCP/IP, IP Addressing (v4 and v6), CIDR and DNS. Excellent understanding of Service Provider and Enterprise architecture. Experience implementing QoS, PBR, VPN, MPLS, SD-WAN
• Qualifications - Cisco CCNP essential.
• Cisco SD-WAN (VIPTella & Meraki) qualifications essential.
• Cisco MPLS and SD-WAN experience essential
• At least 5 years’ experience as an ISP network engineer or in network administration and maintenance.
• Must be well spoken, have a good command of the English language and must be able to deal with customers in a professional manner.

Qualifications:

• Matric qualification
• Tertiary qualification (Computer Science or IT related)
• Certifications CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA
• Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle

Experience:

• Must have professional OME certification, working knowledge and experience of 5+ years
• Solid background in network administration and architecture
• In-depth understanding of TCPIP and the network stack: IPv6, IPv4, routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF), Q-in-Q
• Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (NMS)
• Solid understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS, Mikrotik)
• Must be able to communicate at a business level with IT Directors, IT staff and general users from our client base
• Industry-related experience as a Senior Network Engineer
• Have working practical knowledge of Data Centre Environments
• Have ISP industry working experience for 5+ years
• Be able to communicate and understand client requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Proactively monitor network performance and integrity
• Improve network performance, capacity and scalability
• Final escalation tier for network engineers
• Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
• Design and deploy functional networks through Pre and After Sales Support
• Product research and development
• Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
• Maintain complete technical documentation
• Mentor team members on technical issues
• Liaise with various 3rd parties to ensure call resolution
• Liaise with project management and support teams
• Will be part of an after-hours standby rotation cycle

Requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate
• Certifications: A+, N+, Apple Essentials, Linux Essentials
• Valid RSA driver’s license (manual transmission)
• 12-18 months of relevant experience
• Excellent communication and strong problem-solving abilities
• Adherence to professional etiquette and dress code
• Ability to work independently
• Clean criminal record
• Must be open to work selective after-hours support when required
• Must be in Bloemfontein and nearby areas.

Core Responsibilities:

• New Equipment: Install and configure new ICT equipment including workstations and peripherals.
• Software Deployment: Deploy, configure, and install various software, including operating systems and productivity tools.
• Maintenance: Provide ongoing on-site technical support and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
• Network Infrastructure: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain network endpoints.
• Relocation: Assist with the relocation of computer equipment as needed.
• Technical Support: Offer extensive troubleshooting, support new software roll-outs, and evaluate new technologies.
• Event Support: Provide technical support during special events and executive support during public holidays.
• Disaster Recovery: Support technical operations during disaster recovery and business continuity events.
• Monitoring: Perform real-time monitoring of digital infrastructure, report system downtimes, and monitor network performance.
