MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

• To deliver safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team
• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions
• Create a learning environment that builds staff competence
• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree / Diploma in General Nursing
• DESIRED EDUCATION:  Midwifery; Postgraduate certificate/ diploma in relevant specialty area 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:  None
• DESIRED EXPERIENCE: : 1 year post-graduate qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit

• Infection prevention and control
• Pharmacology
• Scientific nursing principles and process

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

• The Professional Nurse, in collaboration with a multi-professional team, delivers safe, comprehensive, and quality nursing care according to their Scope of Practice regulations. They lead and coordinate nursing teams to enable optimal patient care.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:

• Diploma leading to registration as a General Nurse OR
• 4-year Nursing Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing

DESIRED EDUCATION:

• Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Midwifery
• Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (e.g. Critical Care, Emergency Care, Peri-oprative Nursing) if place in a specialist unit

REQUIRED EDUCATION
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: 

• Higher certificate in nursing (or equivalent)

• Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses for specific speciality  areas

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

• To support nursing unit staff in delivering safe and quality patient care that promotes and meets the healthcare needs of patients

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Support and assist nursing unit staff in the delivery of quality patient care within a team approach
• Identify and report risks in line with hospital policies
• Contribute to a positive patient experience through assisting the nursing unit staff
• Provide administrative support to the nursing unit staff as specified
• Contribute to a learning environment that builds staff competence by participating in continuous personal development
• Ensure that required stock is utilised efficiently and accurately charged

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: An appropriate qualification as a Care Worker
• DESIRED EDUCATION: Grade 12

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Essential minimum experience: Experience in a healthcare environment
