    Senior Data Analyst – Financial Planning and Analysis

    • This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills, a passion for data, and an interest in financial planning. The successful candidate will play a critical role in analysing financial data, creating insightful reports, and supporting decision-making processes.

    Key qualifications and experience for the Senior Data Analyst – Financial Planning & Analysis:

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
    • 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a related data analyst role.
    • Proficiency in Excel (advanced level), including financial functions and pivot tables.
    • Proficiency with data visualisation toolssuch as Power BI or Tableau.
    • Familiarity with SQL for querying databases.
    • Knowledge of financial planning software, ERP systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle).
    • Working with previous PE backed organisations (advantageous)

    Key duties for the Senior Data Analyst – Financial Planning & Analysis include but are not limited to:

    • Data Collection and Analysis:Extract, cleanse, and analyse financial and operational data, and identify trends and anomalies in data sets to support forecasting and budgeting.
    • Financial Modelling and Forecasting:Build and maintain financial models to assist with budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning. Support the FP&A team in evaluating business performance.
    • Reporting and Visualisation: Create dashboards and reports to communicate key financial insights to stakeholders and present data in visually compelling formats using PowerBI, Tableau or Excel.
    • Performance Monitoring:Track KPIs and provide variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Finance, HR & Operations) to gather data and align on business goals.
    • Process Improvement: Automate reporting and improve data workflows.

    Key personal skills for a successful Senior Data Analyst – Financial Planning & Analysis:

    • Strong quantitative problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to present complex data clearly to non-technical audiences.

    Head of Accounting

    What you'll do:

    • As the Head of Accounting, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of our client's organisation. Your strategic thinking will guide the development of their accounting strategy, aligning it with their overall financial and business goals.
    • Oversee the South African entity financial reporting and planning
    • Develop and execute the accounting strategy in alignment with the organisation’s overall financial and business goals
    • Build and lead a high-performing team of Accountants, Accounts Payable, and Sales Ledger professionals
    • Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on accounting policies, procedures, and financial reporting
    • Responsible for the finance teams’ preparation of monthly management packs and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP)
    • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements related to accounting and reporting
    • Drive efficiency and process improvements across all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable and Sales Ledger
    • Work closely with other finance functions, including FP&A and Treasury, to ensure alignment and integration

    What you bring:

    • As the Head of Accounting, your extensive experience in financial accounting will be invaluable. With over 8 years of post-qualification experience under your belt, you have honed your skills in preparing and signing off on financial statements.
    • A qualified accountant (e.g., CA(SA) ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) with 8+ years of post-qualification experience
    • Significant experience in financial accounting and reporting, including the preparation and sign-off of financial statements
    • Proven experience in building and leading high-performing teams across accounting functions
    • Strong understanding of accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and regulatory requirements
    • Exceptional leadership and people management skills

    Management Accountant

    • A private equity-backed multinational firm based in Cape Town is seeking a Management Accountant to oversee financial controls for the Head Office and group operations.
    • This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes across the organisation. As a Management Accountant, you will not only handle key accounting functions but also play a vital role in mentoring junior team members and driving improvements in internal procedures. You will be involved in analysing financial performance, reconciling inter-company transactions, and maintaining compliance with IFRS standards.
    • The scope of the role includes overseeing the Finance Assistant's activities and ensuring accurate month-end reporting.     Key duties for the Management Accountant include but are not limited to:

    • Supervise and assist the Finance Assistant, lagely getting involved in transaction processing and month-end tasks
    • Approve inter-company sales invoices and reconcile them with budget recharge schedules
    • Perform monthly reconciliations of group costs and analyse the profit and loss statements by department, region, and project
    • Manage payroll accounting and control account reconciliations, ensuring prompt resolution of discrepancies
    • Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure compliance with IFRS16 for lease accounting
    • Analyse inter-company loans, prepare loan agreements, and produce group dividend minutes
    • Conduct reconciliations of inter-company P&L codes and accruals
    • Prepare inter-company elimination journals and conduct monthly margin checks
    • Key personal skills for a successful Management Accountant:
    • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
