    Tmm Artisan – Diesel Mechanic

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 / Standard 10 with Maths / Maths literacy.
    • Relevant Trade Test.
    • Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.
    • TMM Licences “A” Dover.
    • Advantageous: N2 Certificate.

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • 2 years TMM Millwright or trade specific experience in a heavy industrial/mining/plant/TMM environment.
    • Advantageous: 1 years practical earthmoving equipment experience on Drill rigs, Roofbolters, RHAM UVs, RHAM LHDs and Sandvik 208 LHDs.

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • Ensure maintenance and breakdowns are done on the production fleet. Ensure the vehicles under his/her responsibility comply with the mine’s code of practice applicable to TMM for operational usage.
    • Ensure workshop and working environment is clean at all times. Assist in ensuring the workshop's operational functioning.
    • Schedule and organise work load, spares, tools and resources according to maintenance / breakdown schedule processes and procedures. Obtain permits and safe declarations to work and related permits for work to be performed by complying with the required procedures related to work permits. Execute work against issued work order in a timeous and accurate manner. Complete work orders and return to supervisor for sign-off. Conduct daily inspections, whether scheduled or ad hoc, and record feedback on work order. Conduct planning of job shown on work order to ensure job is executed in shortest space of time.
    • Conduct mini risk assessment and lock-out procedure in own area of work and within span of control.
    • Perform asset care activities as required to maintenance / breakdown schedule including accurate and timeous feedback and documentation to all relevant stakeholders. Operate and maintain specified mobile equipment in line with requirements of Code of Practice, policies and procedures. Adhere to manufacturer's (OEM’s) maintenance service requirements.
    • Ensure all equipment and tools are cleaned after use and stored in Storeroom according to labelling. Ensure that personal toolbox is in safe working condition. All equipment is inspected continuously to repair identified defects in time to prevent breakdowns, damaged equipment, injuries, and production delays and to identify future defects. Plan, order, collect and utilise parts to minimize production delays, due to equipment and machinery failure. Equipment is maintained pro-actively and serviced on a scheduled basis to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
    • Ensure breakdowns are attended to immediately to restore availability and reported to the Chargehand/Foreman and Control Room. Report and communicate unrepairable equipment to the supervisor.
    • Ensure effective teamwork and good communication by establishing interaction between members.

    Geologist

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor of Science Honours: Geology / B –Tech in Geology.
    • Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.
    • Member of Geological Society of South Africa (GSSA).

    Advantageous:

    • South African Council of Natural and Applied Sciences Professional (SACNASP).

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • 3 – 5 years extensive practical experience in geology and mining.

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • Supervise all geological activities carried out at the operation and ensure data used to produce a computerized resource model is in line with SAMREC standards. Also ensure execution of exploration projects and drill team supervision.
    • Effectively supervise sub-function and its objectives in line with approved budgets (operational, capex and labour), report variances as required and recommend / implement remedial action within span of control. Review and authorize work invoiced in line with approved budget and policy and submit for approval to line manager.
    • Ensure geological database is updated on a continuous basis and managing the Sable licence. Provide geological reports. Prepare geological plans, sections, and data packages. Prepare geological plans. Database management and custodian of geological plan.
    • Geological description (logging) of drill core. Exploration Planning, schedule and coordinate drillhole operations. Assist in conducting mineral resource, production and mining calculations and reporting. Conduct mineralogical investigations. Conduct geophysical / geo-chemical and mineralogical duties. Geological interpretation and analysis of results. Sampling for vamping and stockpiles. Structural projections presented to GM and Head Office.
    • Ensure Mine strategy reports are in place. Reconciliation reports are drafted and accurate. Reporting on core yard projects and exploration projects. Conduct Audits on drilling teams.
