Key Responsibilities:

Customer Assistance

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Provide product information and guidance to customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.

Sales Support

• Support the sales team in achieving store targets and goals.
• Assist in setting up product displays and ensuring they are visually appealing.
• Keep the sales floor organized, clean, and stocked with products.

Inventory Management

• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing inventory.
• Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies to the management.
• Ensure products are correctly priced and labeled.

Store Maintenance

• Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the store, including shelves, counters, and displays.
• Ensure that health and safety standards are adhered to within the store environment

Requirements

• 2 – 4 years’ experience
• Computer Literate
• Attention to detail
• Exceptional Customer Service
• Matric/ Grade 12 (NSC)
• Tertiary Qualification is advantageous
• A minimum of 2 – 4 years’ experience

• Exciting opportunity to work at ACDC Dynamics Pinetown Branch, a leading manufacturer, importer, and distributor of quality products in the electrical, electronics, pumps, and tools industry is looking for a Counter Sales.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

• The Counter salesperson is the first contact who meets customers when they first enter the store and provides excellent customer service. They are responsible for answering customer queries and resolve all their queries professionally to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greeting customers and taking orders
• Possessing excellent product knowledge to inform and increase sales
• Following up on orders to prevent delay and frustration
• Ensuring a clean and tidy counter
• Ensuring that each customer leaves the store satisfied
• Assist all customers at the counter with their queries
• Must treat all the customers with respect and courtesy
• Counter Sales which will include Quotations & Queries
• Must come from an Electrical Background
• Maintaining own Back Order Report
• Maintain good Time Management
• Ensuring that Specials and Brochures are up to date that are on the Trade Counter
• Additional responsibilities deemed necessary by Management
• See to all telephonic sales quotations and queries
• Load / Capture all sales orders and quotations on the computer system
• Manage all back orders on all the above entered orders and follow up regularly
• Advise customers of stock availability
• Regularly monitor all quotes given
• Assist when and where needed

Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify & ensure accuracy and consistency of stock levels and movement at branch level.
• Maintain high stock accuracy through daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and audits.
• Investigate and resolve stock variances between physical counts and system records.
• Ensure implementation of ACDC stock control procedures & safety guidelines, training staff, and monitoring compliance, providing customer satisfaction and as little as possible errors and damages
• Manage proper receiving and dispatching of goods, including quantity and condition verification.
• Maintain accurate labelling and systematic storage of stock items.
• Prepare for and conduct full and partial stock takes, including year-end audited stock counts.
• Generate and assist with all inventory-related reports (weekly, monthly, ad hoc).
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of storerooms, lockups and retail areas.
• Address and resolve stock discrepancies, stock issues, and non-moving inventory.
• Train branch staff on stock control processes and inventory systems. 
• Collaborate with branch teams to ensure adherence to company inventory procedures.
• To assist where and when needed.

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 certificate required; further education in logistics/supply chain is an advantage.
• Proven experience in inventory control, warehousing, or stock management.
• Familiarity with stock management systems (e.g., ERP, SAP, or similar) will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.
• Effective communication skills and a team player mindset.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving inventory.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory software tools.
• Willingness and ability to work extended hours when required.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience in a fast-paced environment such as retail, distribution, warehousing or manufacturing.
• Flexibility to work different shifts or overtime on short notice when required.
