    Transformation Manager

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • The Transformation Manager will manage the AstraZeneca South Africa Transformation Agenda and be responsible for the implementation and execution of the BBBEE & EE Transformation Strategy.  This role will manage and control activities in multi-functional areas across the company as relates to Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) and Employment Equity (EE).
    • The role will also require developing relationships with the various stakeholders – both internal and external, developing strategic business unit and company level reports, providing support and insight for tenders, managing all EE reporting, and managing all annual BBBEE Verifications. The incumbent should have experience with initiating, executing, and delivering BBBEE and EE objectives, earning trust with stakeholders, and translating strategies, targets and research into action and success.
    • The Transformation Manager will report to the Human Resources Director: African Cluster, with dotted reporting line to the Country President: African Cluster.

    Typical accountabilities will include:

    Strategy Development

    • Provide guidance and support with BBBEE & EE Transformation strategies and plans to achieve BBBEE & EE objectives and targets for both the company and specific business units.
    • Review and adapt strategies in accordance with legislative changes.

    Targets

    • Calculate targets for the BBBEE scorecard elements that the company and business units must achieve.
    • Calculate targets for EE Plan and reporting that the company and business units must achieve.
    • Monitor actual results against targets and implement corrective actions.
    • Provide cost-saving proposals.
    • Through the setup of targets for each of the BBEE scorecard elements, provide training, guidance and support to executive management.
    • Through the setup of targets for EE, provide training, guidance and support to the EE Committee and managers.
    • Develop, review and improve processes and proposals.

    Monitoring and evaluation

    • Provide interpretation, advice and opinions on BBBEE legislation impacting the company.
    • Provide interpretation, advice and opinions on EE legislation impacting the company.
    • Ensure that each business unit complies with legislative requirements and aligns to the Company’s BBBEE & EE Transformation Strategy
    • Monitor the implementation of various BBBEE & EE Transformation initiatives to completion.
    • Provide quarterly reports to executive management on the progress of meeting targets.

    Stakeholder Relationship Building, Networking and Management

    • Liaise and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders on relevant issues, supporting the BBBEE & EE Transformation Strategy
    • Identify, develop and maintain relationships with key strategic partners.
    • Participate in relevant forums, both internal and external

    Compliance

    • Monitor compliance to legislation & BBBEE codes and compile the BBBEE tracking scorecard.

    • Ensure that BBBEE practices, standards, procedures and methods are reviewed, updated and applied.

    • Compile and review the BBBEE submissions to the verification agency and project manage the verification process.

    ESSENTIAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in BBBEE & EE Transformation
    • At least 3 years’ experience in managing BBBEE Verification audits
    • At least 3 years’ experience in managing EE reporting
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
    • BBBEE MDP Qualification will be advantageous
    • Experience in a similar role in a Pharmaceutical Multinational Company will be advantageous

    Brand Manager Lung South Africa

    What you’ll do?

    • The successful candidate will drive the commercialization of assigned brands in South Africa by developing and implementing the marketing strategy and operational marketing mix and tactics in order to achieve the brand ambition by delivering budgeted or above sales growth. In this role, you will be strongly involved in launch of the new products based on growth of our Oncology - Lung portfolio.
    • You will also design, implement and evaluate the marketing activities of assigned products within a given product line including distribution channel solutions (this will include digital, social media, inside sales). Assists in review of marketing programs and helps implement changes. Assists in analysis of market data to identify key segment drivers. Works in conjunction with promotional and direct-to-consumer teams.  

    Some areas of focus for this role will include:

    • Advocate for and drive the brand amongst office and field colleagues as well as external customers to ensure the Brand Plan delivers crucial short-term growth and long-term brand success.
    • Launch excellence for new indications and new brands allocated.
    • Designs, implements and evaluates marketing activities of assigned brand, which may include distribution channel solutions.
    • Align the global strategic brand plans with local customer & market insights in order to develop tailored and successful local brand strategy, brand messages and tactical plans.
    • Liaise very closely with sales team to receive market and customer feedback, embed campaigns, and provide brand vision and leadership. Ensure full understanding of the rationale and insights that underpin campaigns, messages and marketing actions and how field input was used in material development.
    • Maximize the full use of all commercial/medical channels by developing brand materials (digital/print) and activities through cross-functional collaboration.
    • Continuously seek to understand and embed customer and market insights into all brand activities by synthesizing qualitative feedback from various sources (market research reports and promotional analysis, customer insights, field insights…) with quantitative feedback available through various data sources and reports.
    • Works with analysts to analyze market data and identify key segment drivers, growth opportunities and business threats.
    • Liaises with cross functional team members and external agencies to ensure full communication and success of marketing plans.
    • Responsible for budget of assigned brand(s) and must have an outlook with corporate sustainability in mind.
    • Be the product, competitor and market expert of assigned brand.
